Are we sure the schedules were unloaded? They're not there now / yet but were they ever there?
It is certainly odd and while we have previously seen certain routes loaded late we have not seen all routes late but there are still other possibilities to a pull out such as a base or contract negotiations.
I don't think Ryanair are relocating to BFS or BHD. They have already operated from BHD without leaving LDY and besides they are established at LDY over the past 15 years.

Hopefully this is nothing as serious as a full withdrawal of services. I must admit when I saw the posts yesterday it got me thinking about the possibility of a move to BFS, but FR to BFS has been discussed before without it being linked to a withdrawal from LDY.
There must be something going on if all services have been removed from the booking engine but I'd say it is still possible that it could be posturing to do with ongoing negotiations rather than a flat out withdrawal from the airport.

Cant speak for any of this speculation but does seem to me that BFS is the only major airport except for Heathrow where Ryanair doesn't operate now?
And its also presumably another channel through which they could take the fight to Aer Lingus??
Guess time will tell..

Staff at LDY seem to know nothing about Ryanair's plans and indeed seemed surprised when informed that the LDY flight schedules have not been loaded but that other airports have been.
This type of confusion is nothing new at LDY but it still doesn't answer what is going on there with Ryanair.

Well Amelia, you obviously don't follow your local airport on Twitter (and to be fair, reading some of the tweets on there, I can understand why). Anyway. This was posted on there last week in response to a query from someone wanting to know what happened to the FR timetables, and suggests somebody up there knows something:
That was on the 19th. It remains to be seen what their definition of "imminently" is.
Dear All, Ryanair will load their CoDA schedule imminently. They have no intention of leaving CoDA

Twitter! I wouldn't know where to begin!
Anyway that's good news that they're not leaving.
However it does beg the question why LDY is late?
A base? W patterns from new routes?
Probably not but then how easy is it to timetable LDY using aircraft from other airports after they have published their schedules?

They are not "late", in fact they are up to 2 months early with schedules this year!
Anyway. A new route (hahahah!!! Who does LDY's publicity? FR?)

I wonder if someone up at CoDA can look up the word "imminent"?

The delay in loading Summer 2015 flights is now bordering on farcical.
As someone said on twitter the only way they can guarantee travel right now in April 2015 to London is by booking from Belfast - Easyjet and Aerlingus etc all have their summer 2015 schedules up.
There may hopefully be a valid reason but customers cannot be expected to 'hold on' and not book from Belfast in the hope that the Derry flights will be 'loaded soon'.
I haven't a notion why the summer 2015 flights are not available yet but something tells me it is beyond the Airports control and that they are at the mercy of Ryanair.
I would not be surprised if the rumours about Derry talking to Aerlingus are true and that Ryanair are being 'thran' and saying 'sure let us know how the Aerlingus talks are going and then maybe we'll load the flights for summer 2015'
This might sound like a crazy statement but as it stands technically Derry will be closing 28th March 2015 unless Ryanair or A N Other airline gets flights going after that.

While the lack of flights after 28-Mar-15 is a concern, it seems perhaps a little too early to say there won't be flights in summer 2015. Flybe for example have yet to load anything substantial beyond March 2015 at this stage. Easyjet have loaded only until May. Neither Easyjet nor Ryanair have yet announced any new routes for S15 in significant numbers, so scheduling for summer is perhaps still a little undecided.
Could I suggest waiting until perhaps late October before making any sorts of predictions ? It's worth noting that flights to the rest of the UK are not about summer beach holidays and perhaps might have a low proportion of people booking 7 months in advance.

LDY is unusual if not unique in Ryanair terms as the vast majority of its Ryanair traffic is domestic.
I presume that the airport were honest to their own knowledge when they tweeted that Ryanair were not leaving and that the schedule would be loaded soon.
However that could still leave open the possibility of an announcement from Ryanair about expansion or a base at the airport.

Anyone know the reason for the landing delay for inbound flights this morning?
Prestwick flight is in a holding pattern over the airport and Birmingham flight is in a pattern over Coleraine.
Stansted flight is descending over Ballymena and will be in the area in 15 mins.
Edit - Stansted flight now also holding over Coleraine.
Edit 8:17 - Looks like Stansted flight diverted to Belfast but PIK and BHX still holding, what is going on ?!
