slots slots slots....
UK Gov fold to pressure and give Arik 7 more slots to operate ABV-LHR-ABV...
Slots are most likely to be
ABV 2330 LHR 0600
LHR 1200 ABV 1800
Operation to start back up in DEC11 which is a few weeks away... however it will make more scene to relaunch for summer next year... gives more time to build up the bookings so they can fly full from day one of operation...but this is Arik with no commercial arm... well not a real arm.... let see.... Big J!!! will say jump and we will say how high..... when are we going to get paid this time.......

Can't wait to see all those Govt ministers and officials flying Arik to LHR as they never did before, a B737NG v B777, which would you fly ?
Will Arik try and get another wide-body a/c in ? before returned to lessor due to 'mix up' over maintenance fee's
More importantly will Junior give up is BA excutive card and always fly Arik now there's more options ?
This is all a positioning exercise for when the FG finally take over an airline they own anyway via AMCON

Unpaid invoices everywhere..........
It's always amazing to see Arik's announcements about new aircraft acquisitions, while refusing to deal with unpaid invoices and wages of their staff !!
One CRJ 900 (5N-JEA) together with an engine (CFM 56-7) inbounded in Germany for open maintenance fees..........
One 737 (5N-MJH) inbounded in Norwich, C-Check not paid......
...........so let's get a couple of A330's in the meantime,..............what a great way to make business !!!!!

Arik Air Nigeria Launches
Are there any planes and pilots to do this gaddafi countryside nonsense?
When do we get the "money launderer express" flight coming for the 737? That should be routed "Lagos-Douala-Kinshasa-Luanda-brazzaville." And on the way back the flight changes and routes to "rebellion support redeye" where u fly "brazz-kigali-Bujumbura-mogadishu-khartoum-Maiduguri." In the middle of night of course.
Arik Air, West Africa’s largest carrier, today re-enforced its expansion plans of its regional West African services with the announcement of the commencement of scheduled flights between Lagos and three new destinations via Dakar (Senegal) – Cotonou (Benin), Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso) and Bamako (Mali). The new service, Arik’s “Savannah Express”, will be re-launched on 6 December 2011 and operate twice weekly on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
The originating flight will depart Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos at 6:00pm (local time) and arrive at Cotonou at 6:30pm (local time). The flight will continue on to Ouagadougou, departing Cotonou at 7:00pm (local time) and arrive in Ouagadougou at 7:30pm (local time). It will then connect through to Bamako, departing Ouagadougou at 8:15pm (local time) arriving at 9:40pm (local time). The flight will then depart Bamako at 10:10pm (local time) and terminate in Dakar at 12 midnight.
The inbound flight will depart Dakar at 00:45am (local time next day) and arrives in Bamako at 2:35am (local time). The flight continues to Ouagadougou, leaving Bamako at 3:05am (local time) and arriving in Ouagadougou at 4:30am (local time). The flight thereafter leaves Ouagadougou at 5:15am (local time) and arrives in Cotonou at 7:45am (local time). The flight then departs Cotonou at 8:15am (local time) and terminates in Lagos at 8:45am (local time).
The Savannah Express routewill be served with a state-of-the-art Bombardier CRJ900 aircraft. The CRJ900 is configured to seat 10 passengers in the Business Class and 64 in Economy.
Arik Air’s Group Chief Executive Officer/ President, Dr. Michael Arumemi-Ikhide said of the new route:
“The commencement of services between Lagos and the cities of Cotonou, Ouagadougou, Bamako and Dakar is significant because it marks the end to years of limited air links between Nigeria and the respective countries. The inauguration is coming at a time when the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) is seeking closer relations among countries in the region. Arik Air’s new services will help Nigeria, Burkina Faso and Mali to foster even stronger economic ties and cement economic relations.
“Arik Air is better positioned than any other West African airline to provide an extensive range of connections from Cotonou, Ouagadougou and Bamako via Lagos. From Lagos, Arik Air offers connections to 21 domestic destinations as well as daily non-stop services to London Heathrow and Johannesburg, and three times weekly to New York JFK, providing greater choice and a convenient, accessible network to our West Coast customers.”
The new destinations in the West Coast will be adding to the airline’s existing five to Accra (Ghana), Freetown (Sierra Leone), Banjul (Gambia), Dakar (Senegal) and Monrovia (Liberia), bringing its total international network coverage to 11 destinations with eight regional points now connected to the hubs in Lagos and Abuja, Nigeria.

Arik Air amongst other carriers in Nigeria are apparently short on crew, to the point where they sometimes PARK airplanes. Alot of carriers want guys with time in type and are still having a hard to attracting good quality pilots.
By any chance would/when will they consider guys with type ratings who are willing to come and make it work?
Just curious!

Correction..........
Arik amongst other Nigerian operators are rather short on spare parts, than on decent flight crews.
Aicrafts are usually PARKED, because these people are not capable to stock serviceable tires, brakes and other parts subject to regular wear and tear !!!
MEL items are getting extended by local authorities for several times, as long as "the envelope" comes together with the extension application, resulting in aircrafts flying with u/s APU's for month !!!
TIA, nothing else to say............

LOL@you are arik material. but my thing is if Arik still needs pilots y not just employ the ones that are coming and train them good enough. Every other irline in Nigeria seems to be taking away arik's pilots

Heard pilots are running back and forth between companies in Nigeria!
And yes I completely agree, they should just train pilots like other/regular airlines do!

My friend... are you having a conversation with yourself?
The similarities in content and grammar seem to be in relation to one another? If this is not the case ... I must be rather advanced in my studies and unaware of my humility?
But before i go ..... two words of wisdom regarding you and arik.
