Latest addition to the fleet.

Obviously you guys are not current, latest news is that Arik chairman, is teaming up with Sir R. Branson of VS and with the blessing of president Obama, NASA has agreed to resurrect space shuttle Challenger and dry lease to Arik for their LOS - JFK route.
At 17,000 mph, it must be the dream of any time conscious pax as they will get to destination in record time.

I,m desperately polishing up my CV, cos even though the training bond is tor a lifetime, the experience will surely be worth every dime.

PS
They've also taken out an option on leasing space shuttle Columbia for the up coming far eastern routes.

That won't work, 'cuz Arik won't pay the fuel bill. Should have went with a wet lease.

I just read that report as well as was wondering if I should post it here. Looks like the issue was resolved with a change of SOP's etc, with no damage to aircraft or crew just a slight miscalculation that went noticed.Another report states Arik's suspension from IATA due to billing issueshttp://www.vanguardngr.com/2011/10/iata-suspends-arik-air-over-billing-settlement-plan/

This thread is getting boring, it was boring half a century ago when it started! Seriously? You guys are STILL moaning about not getting paid by Arik when they have never, ever paid you on time before? Why the fusk do you bother staying on? Flipping burgers in a McDonalds has more job security! If you are stupid enough to work there, fine. But stop moaning about it! Time for the mods to can this thread!

Exclamation Keep threading

Methinks the purpose of this forum is to share issues like this. The world also needs to know what is going on until ARIK cannot go on any longer.

Question

Shame what is happening to this carrier but they still seem dogged and weathering all storms. Can someone confirm another carrier based at CBQ starting soon?

Do carry on!

I was griping about Arik back when it was just getting going, before the wheels had come off, because it was backed by a gang of documented shady types. (Go read 'Saharareporters,' and don't listen to me.)

Lots of guys are suckered in with fancy promises, thinking, 'Hey, how bad can it be?' I remember meeting some Barnax expats in Port Harcourt who told me how they planned to strike if not paid. One guy said, 'What are they going to do, throw us in jail?' All I could think was that he was sort of new to Nigeria. A few months later, they were in jail! Not for very long, but on the other hand, I don't think they ever did get paid, nor did the lessor get paid.

Pilots are notoriously self-centered. When some of our brethren have troubles, those of us who are working AND getting paid just think, 'Muppets!'

Reading about this stuff is fun and informative, so good luck and keep us informed!

(Me, it helps ever so much against a slight feeling of Heimweh.)

Possibly they will soon blame Boeing for "acting mischieviously" for the B747-8I order...

Are you considering joining Arik? Have you been invited for their assessment?

Mr. Smith,

As you are aware, the turn over of pilots at Arik Air is huge. If there are constantly new bodies walking in the door, it takes a while for them to become "disillusioned".

Those who leave offer the best complaint and response to Arik; the lack of their services.

To my knowledge, none of my contemporaries, circa early 2009, are still at Arik. The leopard has not changed its spots, to be sure; pilots will keep coming no matter how bad the conditions could be, and Arik will keep hiring because pilots leave.
