Human cargo get your facts straight please!

The DH8 and F50's are operated by a dutch company, Denim Air...

So the Dutch (or whatever pilots) are not on the pay roll of Arik, this because it's a wet-lease..

Post Arik Air orders four more 787s and ten 737-800s

According to an article today in Flight, Arik Air has ordered additional 787s and 738s:

Arik Air Orders More 787s and 737-800s

Can this really be in addition to the order reported last month? Where will they get all the crews from? Still, it's good to see further modernisation of the fleet. They then need to clean up their act on ticket purchase at airports as it's presently a complete and utter shambles.

Tokunbo,

Where will they get all the crews from?
I have posted an answer to your question here:

http://www.pprune.org/forums/showthr...=240291&page=2

Ok, so the upside is that the airline will for the next 2-3 years be in need of pilots big time. The downside is that the "one-man-managed" airline will have huge problems getting qualified pilots. Right now it seems like it is more important to buy more and more flying machines without the person on top, assisted by the Managing Director, stopping up for a second to find out if their speedy approach to international aviation glory is at all the way to go. You do not have to be Einstein, or in family with Einstein, to understand that without pilots part of their new machines will not fly .

Unless McTighe gets to the point where he dares tell the top man how an airline shall be operated, and stick to it, Arik will develop itself to be a glorious showroom for new flying machines. Nothing more, nothing less.

But a showroom can have its advantages. When there is no more money to spray into this airline, they can always stage a sell out and invite buyers from all over the world to their Lagos showroom display. Or they can sell their orders. May be that is the scheme

Anyone know if Arik are recruiting for 737 First Officers.
Their website says they are, I've applied and had no reply.
Anyone on the inside know anything.

Arik air, new jobs.

Hi my fellow pilots.
I'd appreciate any information about pilots situation in Arik Air, I've got an interview next week and I'm really thinking about to move to Nigeria to fly the CRJ, but I'm affraid about some posts. I will be contracted under an aircontractor (english)agreement. I'm not worried about living conditions but breach on contract, payments,..etc.
Any information would be grateful.

many thanks

outofhereoyibo,
And this would be your enlightened contribution based on it being your first post on Pprune, i assume?
If it were, or is a mess, what are your proffered solutions?

Well... as for the post thing (1st post) its not. I have not posted here in a long time and forgot my screen name. As far as solutions go, I have none! My solution was to never go back to that place. I really dont care what becomes of Arik. Thats the great thing about free will. Do as you wish!
Good luck and dont forget your malaria pills.

outofhereoyibo,

I kind of understand LongJohnT when he says:

outofhereoyibo,

If it were, or is a mess, what are your proffered solutions?
Having said that I feel it is up to each and everyone, first post or 1000 posts, to have an opinion about the subject discussed. That you have been there - done it adds volume to this thread as you can enlighten us all about what you call a mess. I would not expect you to come up with solutions to whatever is going on in Arik Air, but I am sure LongJohnT and others would not mind if you open the door just a little bit.

HavingSaidThat,
Thanks for trying to urge the man to shed some light on what might be wrong in Arik and what he could possibly be talking about!
He obviously has no point as far as I'm concerned.
Every half baked piece of sh*te goes to Nigeria and starts to develop some self worth.
outofhereoyibo,
You still have made NO point in your response! If you have nothing to say, please spare us all the read.
No-one ever said that airlines in Nigeria were the best or near that, but, if you must say something, please educate us on what you think our problems are so we can look into them and proffer solutions to those whom it may affect directly.
I don't work for Arik, but i care what happens in my country and what is said about it!
I'm sure at this point, those at Arik must be happy to see your rear end!
