External parties wouldn't see all the data. Why would EK/DCAA/GCAA show rosters to NTSB.
The unexpected has happened. EK never supposed to have an operational incident. Even if there were such incident, local not supposed to be the PF. Even if there were fatalities, not supposed to be local.

I doubt EK will be able to brush this one under the carpet. The Big 3 in the US may well use this to ask difficult questions re fatigue (regardless of it possibly being a contributing factor here) Too many other interested parties with solid reputations (Boeing and Rolls Royce) at stake.
This terrible incident has been on the cards. Will they now listen in EGHQ?
Clark (for once silent) and EGT and many others can't be sleeping too well at the moment.
I also second the comments that the FO MUST have a lawyer present during his de-brief. KG (in the past) and others have denied people the chance to take notes and have a representative/witness present. In one instance, the two other people in the room wouldn't even introduce themselves and reneged on a promised transcript.
Good to see that most people and the mods are being sensible with their comments.
Thoughts with all concerned, especially the firefighter and his family.

Pilot support: here in lies the achillies heel of working in the gulf, no representation when the SOP's go the way of the Dodo. In EK, There's nobody to turn to , professionally speaking . Clearly there must have been some misunderstanding and or conflict of views in the cockpit and we will await any further snippets from the powers that be . It will be 2-3 months before the preliminary report emerges . Or 2-3 years.
I remember several incidents of Go arounds that were aborted by the captain, resulting in runway excursions and significant damage;QF in Bankok comes to mind . Just speculating.

Sure they would
ICAO Annex 13!
The State of Registry, the State of the Operator, the State of Design and the State of Manufacture shall each be
entitled to appoint an accredited representative to participate in the investigation.
Rights:
Participation in the investigation shall confer entitlement to participate in all aspects of the investigation, under the
control of the investigator-in-change, in particular to:
a) visit the scene of the accident;
b) examine the wreckage;
c) obtain witness information and suggest areas of questioning;
d) have full access to all relevant evidence as soon as possible;
e) receive copies of all pertinent documents;
f) participate in read-outs of recorded media;

The GCAA will still be leading the investigation and will be ultimately responsible for what is eventually published. The NTSB and any other investigative body from any other state will merely be there to assist as and when required.
In addition to the above I am also led to believe that the state of engine manufacturer is also entitled to participate if required, so the UK AAIB could also be involved too?

short flights long nights
I must add to others, STC has been very quiet. As has AAR. Stay safe out there everyone, you are only as good as your next sector.
( I wonder if anyone will get serious and look at EGT's fear control through constant ' warning letters')

Sorry, it's on a ' need to know' basis.

Correct Emma but they should have access to all data and can write their own report if they so desire.
For example - Boeing would not be happy if the GCAA blames the accident on them just to save EK brand or blames RR for that matter.

STC is on leave, no doubt being given daily if not hourly briefs. As HH has made a press statement and written to all staff, I would not expect to hear from him in the short term.
The APC legal insurance does not cover costs vs the employer (it's in the details).
How many expats now checking what cover/support/representation they can get from BALPA etc?

STC flew back to DXB on a Falcon business jet in the small hours on Thursday.
UAE Center seemed to be unaware that he was on board and were reluctant to allow the aircraft into DXB with all the capacity problems, which made for some amusing and embarrassing R/T transmissions for all to hear on the frequency!

2. LEGAL COVER
2.1 The Management Company provides a policy of legal cover to pilots who are members of the Plan.
2.2 Members are covered by the policy for up to $50,000 USD for legal costs related to actions taken by third-parties (except the employer, Emirates Airlines) against the member as a result of flight duties while the member is in a flight duty status and operating, augmenting or positioning an Emirates Airlines aircraft and is subject to local laws of the respective jurisdiction.

UAE issues warning over sharing plane crash photos - ArabianBusiness.com
So what about all these videos EK uses in the RTGS / CRM classes? Guess that's a thing of the past as well now since they seem to be in breach of UAE laws?

Habibis remember that here in the UAE the law is written to protect image and waste first, UAE citizens next and lastly it is used to punish those whom are considered a threat. Expect a semi transparent report with glass half full comments rather than recommendations, and remember not to post anything from inside the UAE as anything can be construed as illegal.
Morons. Any social media becomes worldwide knowledge in nano-seconds, and is beyond their control.
Same as EK removing Roster Search function for Flight or Trip. A 10 second search in Destination for TRV on the 2nd of August, (on the SAME PAGE!) showed all details.

Halas, I have no problem with the company hiding roster stuff for anyone involved in an incident. So many people have access to it. Give those involved some privacy. If there is a work around I hope they fix it.
Don, Have no problem with keeping privacy. My observation was about the brains-trust that thought disarming half the functions would cover the privacy issue.
