Pilot support: here in lies the achillies heel of working in the gulf, no representation when the SOP's go the way of the Dodo. In EK, There's nobody to turn to , professionally speaking . Clearly there must have been some misunderstanding and or conflict of views in the cockpit and we will await any further snippets from the powers that be . It will be 2-3 months before the preliminary report emerges . Or 2-3 years.
I remember several incidents of Go arounds that were aborted by the captain, resulting in runway excursions and significant damage;QF in Bankok comes to mind . Just speculating.
