There might be a reason why the gear can't be seen...

Listened to ATC tape at Live ATC Archive for OMDB Tower 2, select 0830-0900Z.
http://archive-server.liveatc.net/om...2016-0830Z.mp3
Crew checks in calm at 06:00, wind check for landing 12L, 340/11. Likely CM1 PF.
At 07:29 Looks like a low level G/A (after, W/S, long landing, and/or tailstrike?) was then started by the crew. ATC confirms the 4000ft G/A ALT. The rest is history...
At least nobody got killed.

Tried to check if there was a buddy operating the flight as he told he was doing a night turnaround to India. The company was quick to block off access to iCrew and the section of the portal where you can look up specific flights. I'm glad everyone is reported safe, and hope everything turn outs well in the aftermath.

Just want to say your brothers "down the road" are watching and happy to hear all are safe.
Kudos to your crew for rising to action after a long night to get all the passengers safely off a smoldering and broken airplane. Hopefully that feat is not lost in what is sure to be a lot of sensationalism to come.
Just like with FZ, we are the all the same out here. Same pressures and schedules and when something like this happens it's like it is one of our own.
Safe landings to all

The wash up will be interesting..see how management will attempt at every avenue to exonerate themselves…Salaams to the CC…good job, well done..hope they get the recognition they deserve...
Does look like the gear was retracted- Must of been one hell of a shear!!!
If that is the case, they did well making a semi-controlled landing and not stalling.

Recruitment recently told me you will work very hard in Emirates, to the maximum allowed. Expect 7-9 days off on B777. We are short crewed. We can't hide the truth the lady said, because its all out there on social media.

The ATC recording isn't very clear. The controller refers to EK521 several times after the crash. Is he talking to the fire services or trying to reach the aircraft still? I cant hear what he's saying.
