Globespan summer 2010 Europe flights

These seem to be released to other operators , I found Edinburgh to Tenerife available via flynet but could only book 2 weeks not any longer
Last year they came available on Globespan site 15th August. All being well should be very soon

Very poor choice of words by a professional on a "professional" forum Mr Chickenstrips

Really?

From the Oxford English Dictionary:

Dimwit

Noun, informal - a stupid or silly person

- derivatives: dim-witted - adjective.

Had this particular person thought about what he was doing - I say he as I’m fairly sure Alba do not employ any female ground handling agents – then this incident probably would not have happened!!

I suggest rather correct use or wording, by a professional!

CS.

I am looking on SBS just now and see Air Italy 767 I-AIGG showing as GSM737P, I take it this is a sub-contract for a defective aircraft?.

Flying Milan-Calgary as GSM373P so I suspect it will come back to the UK tomorrow on a charter? G-SPNA has also gone over as GSM370P.

Anyone know what the swap of 763's at Durham Tees was all about this morning? G-SPNA came down from Edinburgh and was supposed to go to Calgary, but it went back to Glasgow and G-CDPT went to Edinburgh after arriving from Calgary. Wierd (expensive) way to swap aircraft

Winter 09 has a reduced fleet:

3 B738s
2 B73Gs
4 B763ERs

2 B738s at GLA
2 B73Gs at EDI
1 B763ER at BZZ
3 B763ERs ACMI work over W09.
Whats happening to the other 738?

Much as I hate to raise the subject, has anyone any idea of how rapidly FlyGlobespan's customer service department respond?

Might want to ask on the Passenger and SLF Forum

Think we'll have any surprises when the 2010 timetables released? Doubt there will be much change to long-haul.

Summer 10:

Probably the usual routes.

GLA-ALC, AGP, PMI, TFS, HRG, SSH, BCN, FAO, PFO, LPA, ACE, DLM, SFB, YYC, YVR, YHM, YHZ
We may see expansion of the DLM route to 2 weekly and maybe some greek routes, RHO. Maybe even LCA weekly.
Longhaul probably remains the same as S09, SFB 5 weekly, YVR/YYC weekly, YHM maybe 2 weekly, YHZ weekly.

EDI-already coverage for Thomas Cook based flights, extras include increased TFS, and RHO flights. I'd expect these to be sold on GSM website too.

ABZ-same as S09. maybe an extra route added, maybe SSH in Summer.

Release expected within the next week or so.

It would be good if GSM were to introduce RHO, as this year there has been a major reduction in flights. With all the mergers and XL gone, flights have been cut. Not to long ago we had 5 flights a week-

MYT, TOM, FCA, XLA all on a Wednesday plus XLA on a Saturday
Now we have TCX on a WED and TOM on a Sat.
I think if gsm were to move into the Greek islands with flights it would be a great opportunity.

Think Italy would become an option?

Are GSM'S new 738's direct orders with Boeing or long term leases with a leasing company?

Can we expect GSM to add anoter order or two for small expansion and to cover the new TCX charter program at EDI?

I reckon the aircraft will be on long term lease with a leasing company, that's what they have done for all the other aircraft.

I doubt there will be any fleet expansion until S11.

Regards,

e.g Alicante, Very High Fares Charged By EZY & TCX

GSM did operated a BFS - PMI a few years back, when Globespan had a dedicated Puerto Pollenca brochure.

Can't really see GSM entering into the short haul bucket and spade routes from BFS.

Pity they wouldn't operate Vancouver from BFS as a one-stop service from the mainland. Zoom operated this with decent loads (Lord knows about the yield though) with the aircraft originating in Cardiff. Toronto has also see a HUGE capacity reduction from BFS, with Zoom gone that was 2 per week, Air Transat that was up to 2 per week, and skyservice that operated peak season I think. Think this is the first summer in maybe 20 odd years BFS has no direct link with Toronto Pearson.

Danielmellor with all due respect I have always found Easyjet's fares to be quite reasonable and sometimes ridiculously cheap. In January last year I was charged £47 for a return from Glasgow to Malaga. I have just booked my cousin and her friend from Glasgow to Alicante for May next year. They were charged £70 each for their return journey. Surely there wouldn't be much difference in fares from Belfast.

Danielmellor

Ive generally found EZY to be much cheaper than GSM from both EDI and GLA so i doubt if they operated from BFS they would be any different.
