Hi all. Am new to the forum. Was at Manchester on Saturday morning and saw G-OBYH head out to ALC with the 2 FCA 767s off to IBZ and MAH. Furthermore it looked as if on Monday morning there were 4 TOM B767s heading out of MAN. G-OBYG looked to have been covering a 738 to Las Palmas.
Howcome the majority of them are based out of Manchester instead of Gatwick? Is this because there is more Dreamliner traffic out of Gatwick?

Over the previous summers at CWL there have been numerous AC swaps throughout the season, sometimes even 3 a week. This season so far out of the 2 based 738's there's been only 1 AC swap. ZT has been based since the 21st April and ZY since the 20th May. Only asked as it seems a little strange, are these two AC's based for the whole season?

Not having a good week with the 787s...G-TUIA went tech in the Dom. Republic late last week, and todays EMA-CUN is just about to land in MAN after turning back over the Atlantic.

The B787 EMA-CUN turned back with a Hydraulic failure.
All the questions about an aircraft "based" at a particular airport mean nothing as there are no planes "based" at that airport. Thomson has always had the capability in both planes and crews to substitute an alternative reg/type with another to keep the flying programme on schedule. Despite what looks like one reg/type at an airport for maybe a week or so, the aircraft are rotated through main bases for maintenance checks etc on a regular basis
I only agree that the 757 is one of the best planes for the job that Thomson do, but as others have pointed out, despite various airlines pleading with Boeing to make a direct 757 replacement, Boeing have no inclination/money to do so, so it will be a constant stretch of the 737, but remember.....they still have only 4 main brakes and so, as the 737 weight increases with more passengers etc, then the landing performance becomes even tighter because it will never have the landing performance of the 757 with 8 brakes. The 737MAX is the type chosen to replace the 757s. The A321 has other performance issues on the Thomson routes/loads as again, only 4 brakes, and a very small wing chord

Should be in theory, date for WFU was end of July,
The aircraft positioned to LTN and back before working to CFU,
OOBM was on a AYT flight today, depends on how they are for planes I suppose, last I heard was 31st July- obviously someone guessing, was off another forum anyway!

BL and BM are in the schedules for the rest of the summer operating short haul. I suspect i know the forum you mention and unfortauntely they just google flight numbers to find aircraft types.
