Thomson New Livery

Have Tui / Thomson decided on a new livery yet. I notice from Another site that one of the belguim aircraft has gone for a respray in "a new corporate livery". is this a company wide change does anyone know?

Thanks

Gordon

Change in 787 order for Thomson Airways

Michael Mecham mecham at aviationweek.com
The 787 reduction lowers that type's total order book to 840. The 10 losses are the result of a merger last year by First Choice and TUI, two UK leisure travel specialists, to become Thomson Airways. First Choice held 12 787 orders; TUI had 11. Thomson will keep 13 firm orders plus 13 first rights. They had announced their intention to rationalize their 787 fleets on Sept. 29.
First Choice was the inaugural UK customer for the 787 and based its campaign on the long-range jet, which it expected to receive this year. So its entire travel campaign was thrown off by the delays. On its 787 program, Boeing has taken 83 cancellations this year, plus one last year.

Thomson New Livery

It is my understanding that all TUI group aircraft other than those operating for 'Thomson Airways', will be uniformed if you like, in TUI Fly livery. Thomson Airways will in time have a new livery but will remain as is for the moment whether it be TFly (some without the fly) or FCA.

??

Why would Thomson Airways be 'Already' thinking of another colour scheme, Even before they have even unveiled & introduced the impending one?

Some without the fly??

You appear to be unsure?? and is just 'Summising' on possibilities??

I appologise If I am shooting at you But it is not intended

Thomson New Livery

Hi BYALPHAINDIA, sorry if I made myself unlear, in response to a question regarding TUI Belgium a/c having a respray I commented that all non Thomson Airways aircraft in the TUI fleet will become TUI Fly, and when I commented on the 'new' Thomson Airways livery I was refering to the scheme that is due to come into effect, at the end of the day it will only be classed as a current livery when it is on the aircraft, so it should still be classed for the time being as 'new' in my opinion.
In relation to 'some without the fly', as I am sue you are aware, since the merger some TOM aircraft no longer have the fly.com on the fuselage. All three points are as far as I am aware fact, not summising, though obviously I am more than willing to be corrected.

Only a matter of time before it is TUI Luft or something germanically similar.

The TUI brand although well known in mainland Europe is not so, imho, in the UK. Consigning Thomson or Thomsonfly to history is probably not a good move.

Bring back Britannia Airways logo on a couple of retro painted jets?

Hey EGBE0523, that would certainly be a bad move, as you say TUI is not generally a well know entity as a brand in the UK, though I suppose those in Germany appear to have recognised this by excluding TOM from the 'respray'.

As far as the retro thing, I think that is a great idea, the Air France retro a/c of recent times look absolutely great, and Cimber Sterling have done the same with their B738's, so why not?? Though, as we know its not just the livery thats changed since BY.

I can't see TUI ever replacing the Thomson brand. Lets face it since the merger with First Choice they have moved their world HQ to Crawley. TUI Travel plc were formed by the merger of TUI AG's tourism group and First Choice plc.

So most of the top executives are former First Choice & Thomson executives and will reckonise the importance of the Thomson branding. Just a shame that there is noone who would bring back the Britannia name back!

I think the crux of it is that TUI UK have decided to concentrate on the charter market and rethink its 'fruitless' venture into the low cost schedule seat sale market since the merger. Therefore the tour operating brands of Thomson Holiday and First Choice Holidays are again being served fully, and already have established brand recognition. Maybe if it was a part scheduled service still then the name TUI may not be unreasonable, but in the charter market it means very little to UK 'bucket & spade' pax. It will be interesting to see what TCX do with their 'seat only's' is S10.

Thomas Cook seem to be still trying to compete with the low-co's as they have cut agents commission to 0.10% - in effect meaning it actually costs us money by the time you pay for credit/debit card fees etc.... When I first started in travel in 1992, seat only was the highest commission you could make usually around 15%! How times change lol

G-ooba 757

G-OOBA flew BHX - Maastricht 1/11/09 for painting into "Thomson" colours
and duly a photo is shown on another forum with it gleaming way on the
tarmac at MST with "Thomson" titles and scheme.

This is an ex FCA aircraft and can anyone confirm if the interiors are also
being updated on the ex FCA aircraft and is this the "final" scheme for the merged airline?

I was under the impression from previous posts that a new scheme was
being considered to replace this awful tat.

Perhaps it has saved Thomson millions employing a PR company and
settled for what they have?
