A quick question for any Tom 737-800pilots that may be on here , I have recently travelled back from PFO with Thomson on G-FDZF which has the new split Scimitar winglets. I know there is some fuel consumption savings but do the aircrafts fitted with these handle or fly any different than the standard designs ?
As a side note must say both flights were very good but really missed the new Boeing Sky interior and flight map on the return on G-FDZF especially as a night flight although we got spoiled on the lovely and new G-TAWU outbound

Thanks for the reply Busz/Alex I noticed that these wing tips also have very unique wing strobe lights where instead of flashing or strobing as per normal these are like turning bright LED lights and seem to stay on longer than other 737NG or A320.
I have noticed in particular at EGNX they seem to use the new Scimitar aircraft on the longer sector flights like PFO,LCA,DLM,AYT and SSH I imagine this is to maximise the fuel savings just a shame these aircraft are all older and have not got the Sky interior and maps for customers.

G-TUIF
G-TUIF had her first flight yesterday over at the Boeing factory in Everett. Not long now until the fleet has 6 787s which are needed to operate the peak summer schedule. Looking at Tuesday 22 July for example, 6 787 are needed to cover these advertised 787 operated flights:
LGW - CUN - LGW
LGW - AUA - LGW
LGW - PUJ - LGW
MAN - SFB - MAN
MAN - CUN - MAN
NCL - CUN - NCL

but do the aircrafts
To whom are the B787s being delivered? Thomson's engineering base is at LTN, so did G-TUIE just go straight into revenue service? Indeed, where are the UK based B787s being maintained?

Skipness One Echo
They are being maintained from where they operate from.
No need of a hangar for routine maintenance for a couple of years and if non-routine, plenty of hangars available.
