If I have an EASA medical, should I get the initial CAA UK medical or there is any kind of convalidation?
and during the screening we should pass through BA medical exam ? What can I expect ?

You will need an initial CAA UK medical as it’s part of the requirements as stated on the job post.
No credit for EASA when you do your initial in the UK currently

HR

Does anyone have any recent experience of HR interview?

Climb150 1st June 2024 00:44

Can we go a week without someone asking to post their recent interview experience?

ClearenceClarence 1st June 2024 06:50

Sorry for the silly question, is anyone who has started recently able to give a bit of information regarding the wet drills please? How far do you need to swim without a life jacket?

enzino 1st June 2024 14:28

Aren't wet drills a once in a lifetime occurrence for crew members?

Just once per operator. So you have to do one on joining BA but it's not a recurrent training event. Unlike a previous operator where we had to do the slides and wet drill every couple of years!

thanks

so basically the process is like 3 stages:

1. video recording
2. Group exercises + interview + Eagle test at Waterside
3. A380 sim

is that correct?

R T Jones 5th June 2024 06:44

For me, the eagle test and group exercise/interview were on separate days.

Yea pretty much but they are trying to schedule the eagle test on one day and group exercise/interview on separate days. Sometimes they do hold a one day event to give some options for people who are travelling far but it's just a free for all so first come.

The sim seems to be on either the 320/380 and you won't know until the day so need to learn pitch/power for both which isn't the hardest thing. They are asking you what pitch/power you're looking for so definitely make sure you know these for the day.

Long Haul suitability also, this was a big question mark in previous posts. From an assessor, they told me that aside from having the required 1500 hrs on type, they are judging this in the sim on how you perform and if they can be satisfied that you will be able to pass the intense conversion course to LH as it's short, intense and expensive. So they are looking to ensure that you can cope with it. Take that how you want but great CRM and IFR knowledge at a minimum.

A320 or A380 sim depending on availability. Learn pitch and power tables for both as you won’t know until the actual day which sim you’ll be assigned.

Thank you for the informative reply, thats helpful.

Just to clarify that the airbus sim would be conduct with normal law right? Otherwise flying in Direct law trimming an Airbus is quite tricky!

Gurpreet_ 8th June 2024 15:29

Hi all,
Anyone in the holding pool for EF heard anything recently regarding start dates?

No no they're not mean. All done RAW DATA and in NORMAL LAW you'll be happy to hear.

Expect a relatively short sector with nothing technical so medical, runway closure etc. WX is was CAT I both sectors. You;Lleida do a circuit first under instruction to get a feel for the aircraft then you'll go into your sector.

Guys, just a quickly concern.
im about to upgrade for a capitan in my company. I have around 6000tt which 3000 is in 737.
if a apply for a long haul in BA, how should be my “way” in the company, thinking in captain upgrade and senority list during the years? How they manage that and how long does it take ? Thanks in advance

Minimum a year in BA for a shorthaul command with that experience. With the annual process and planning the course could take more like 2yrs if unlucky with timings. Recently the commands have been going quickly so that has been achievable in the last couple of years, but historically it's been more like 7-10 years so I'm told.

Long haul command 20 years.
