Hi CaptainProp, thanks, I understand now I have to establish a history before the inbox will be expanded.

Hi SkyHigh...I just noticed that they removed the non-rated DEC for Portugal (or any other base) on their career website, any idea why?

Best regards

Type rating courses filled up to the busy Summer season and the hold pool is probably full, with extensions given to those who’ve been swimming for a while. Courses to be resumed after Summer.

Is this for CAPT or FO? Getting a bit ridiculous by the sound of it! Any idea how they work out who gets on a course and who doesn’t?

Access to staff travel confirmed tickets and standby tickets is available. Medical is reimbursed (some AMEs can bill the company directly). Car parking and uniform included, as is crew food and drink.

Both. They don’t seem to run TR Courses during peak Summer periods.

As for who who gets in and when. I guess it depends on their requirements, your base choices and notice period, and possibly your performance during the selection process? I know someone who got on a course ahead of me, despite getting in the pool after. He got lucky as they’d called him for a Berlin base and he asked to wait for Gatwick, which he was then offered. I’m hoping for a course in Sep/Oct this year. There will probably be a few leavers to BA over the next six months that may not have been catered for in their numbers, so things could change.

Cheers, thanks to the info.

I believe they quoted 24 months last year. However, only if applying for the same job, so applying as DEC instead of FO might have no timelimit at all.

Please could somebody outline how long it would likely take for a NTR FO joining at a different base to get to be based at MAN? I assume going straight there on joining isn’t an option? Thanks.

Are there any UK bases where new joining SFOs are likely to be closer to command than others? How hard are NCL and EDI to get into for a new joiner, and how likely for a quick ish command upgrade?

Thx

Superpilot 7th February 2019 12:57

Dave, I interviewed last year and was quoted 2-3 years for smaller bases like STN and NCL.

speedrestriction 7th February 2019 12:59

No. Your position in the command list will be anchored on the date you formally enter the command process which depending on sufficient experience will be at or after approximately six months in the company, having completed recurrent training. At that point the only thing which will expedite your command is if you are more flexible than others in command basing ie if other candidates ahead of you are bidding for a specific base or country and you are prepared to take a command wherever it is offered. Regional bases have shorter but typically slower moving command lists than larger bases.

That would be for right seat, expect a good deal longer for left seat from date of joining.

i was offered a job mid December rated FO and they were offering many
different bases. These included Manchester and Milan.

I'm a NTR FO, applied and passed the initial sift early last year but still waiting for an interview date.... the application says 'successful' but what are the chances of an interview ever materialising?

anyone have a similar experience?

FlyingH1gh, do you have UK passport and license?

I ask ask because I heard a rumour from a friend of mine at EZY that they have only been taking EU passport and license holders recently due to Brexit. He heard it from a line trainer, might just be rumour but from the few I know waiting for interview all have UK licenses and passports.

Thanks for the reply. I do indeed have a UK passport and license. It's disappointing that EZY are so poor at communicating their concerns or indeed intentions to people they are trying to recruit..... it doesn't show them in the best light!

Why don't you give the recruitment team a call rather than post your concerns on here? They are more than approachable.
