I applied a month ago for low hour non TR and application was still open, I don't know now. I only received the confirmation e-mail but it doesn't say that they will contact you if your application is unsuccessful but only should it result successful so we might never get any answer.
Cheers

downwind24 10th November 2011 09:58

Mobius , that category ended about a month ago mate. They are currently on TR , the people selected.

Mobius1 10th November 2011 12:08

When I applied the application process was still available for non type rated with low hours but probably they have already covered all positions at that moment. Thanks for the info by the way.
Cheers

The apps of no-rated took them by storm, recruitment likely to continue into 2012 and even some no-TR selected guys have been put on hold till internal decisions are made. The not selected will receive some kind of "No thanks but no". Words & music from HR dept. Do not shoot the messenger...:uhoh:

G-GOLF 10th November 2011 14:33

*sigh*

I guess the saying 'no news is good news' really doesn't apply when hunting for a flying job :bored:

jamieboy 12th November 2011 07:48

Hi I attended the Jet2 interview early Nov. Just wondering if anyone has heard or how long it takes to hear if successful. Thanks in advance.

mini-jumbo 12th November 2011 16:50

Still waiting to hear as well. They didn't give any indication of when they'd let us know, just that they would either way, so I guess just a waiting game.

Dougle Mcguire 12th November 2011 18:19

Hi, are you two guys experienced or type rated??

mini-jumbo 13th November 2011 09:09

I'm experienced, non-typed. Can't speak for jamieboy

jamieboy 13th November 2011 20:16

I'm experienced and type-rated DEC. Hoping to hear something soon.

bountyhunter 17th November 2011 07:47

Any TR experienced FO's heard anything yet?

Dougle Mcguire 17th November 2011 08:09

Not yet........ At least I'm not the only one!!! I got an instant automated reply from my application....... and I have heard nothing since. Almost 3 months since I applied!!!

EGAC_Ramper 17th November 2011 16:16

Don't worry I'm in the same boat just a matter of patience.

Can anyone who has been through the J2 selection this year briefly cover what is involved in the compass tests...

I already have the Cockpit web software which adequately covers preperation for the BA DEP capacity tests. Is compass testing similar?

Also, I heard there is a technical exam for TR guys. If true, what does it cover... type specific systems, perfomance or ATPL type stuff? Thanks.

Sector pay FO

Could anyone give an approx figure per annum of the sector pay you would earn as a TR experienced FO please?

Am i correct in thinking a TR / Experienced FO receives in the region of £43k rising to £45k in April 2012? Do you receive this whilst line training?

Thanks in advance

mini-jumbo 20th November 2011 10:06

You are correct on the salary front. 50% salary until final line check.

Dan 98 20th November 2011 10:15

Thanks Mini-Jumbo 50%! Crikey how long does the line training take not long i hope!!

Any idea on sector pay once on the line?

Thanks

StopStart 20th November 2011 20:53

Yes, COMPASS testing is part of assessment now. Caught us by surprise as we only found out when we arrived there....

Hand eye coordination, memory, orientation, maths, basic physics, a few ATPL questions.

PENNINE BOY 22nd November 2011 23:10

Compass Test

Yes compass test takes up most of the day, Forget how well the interview goes if you dont pass the compass test you dont go through regardless of experience.

mini-jumbo 28th November 2011 16:34

Just wondering if anyone who attended selection earlier in the month has heard anything? Attended beginning of the month, had an email saying assement went well and application being reiviewed, but nothing further.

Cheers

Toast30 30th November 2011 15:53

Yes I am in the same situation as you mini-jumbo. I passed the assessment and received the same email you did, it was a tad confusing so I called them to clarify. Basically all of the successful candidates are now with the fleet/base captains who will decide how many people they need in each base and try and match us up to our base requests. I'm hopeful we will hear something by the end of this week?!

420 HB 6th December 2011 23:15

Does anyone have any idea how many crew J2 are looking for in 2012. Seems to be lots of assessment days recently. Anybody got an offer yet.

Too Few Stripes 7th December 2011 08:44

In a fairly recent internal memo it was mentioned they were recruiting 125 new pilots.

Squealing Pig 7th December 2011 19:57

Good news if you want a NCL base

Jet2.com turns the spotlight on Newcastle | CAPA

UAU242 7th December 2011 22:53

Just wondering, did anyone with turbo prop experience but no jet time get a positive response to their application?

Fat Dog 8th December 2011 10:32

Going for interview next Tuesday (13th). Email says:

The format of the day will include: Introduction Meeting, Aptitude Testing, One to One Interview, Paperwork and a Group Exercise. We anticipate the day to finish by 4:00PM and will be providing teas, coffees and lunch for your convenience.

Few questions then please. Is this 'aptitude testing' the COMPASS testing? What is the interview likely to be? Technical or otherwise? I'm guessing just 'Why do you want to work for Jet2' etc...

Cheers

What experience are people applying with?

and having success.

winkle 10th December 2011 06:50

7000 hrs total 1000 on 737 applied as TR FO, no reply.

rotafix 10th December 2011 07:50

8000 hrs, 3500 on type 757/767 applied as TR FO, no reply

I'm Off! 10th December 2011 08:22

With those levels of experience you guys must be incredibly frustrated at not getting even a simple reply - I know I would be!!

I know the computer system is far from perfect, and the HR are overworked; I really think that your applications could potentially have been missed/overlooked - why not give them a call if you are still interested?

spider_man 10th December 2011 08:52

close 4,000 hrs, mostly on type, passed selection and waiting on further news. Not expecting to hear anything until the new year.

MrHorgy 10th December 2011 14:08

Nearly 4000 Hrs, 3700 on type, still no reply. Went via TR FO.

drag king 14th December 2011 10:22

Heard there is an interview ongoing today, maybe in EDI. Anyone that have attended? What level of experience this time?

jimsmitty01 19th December 2011 16:52

Sorry to bang on about the online system again as I know it has been covered. My situation is that I applied 2 years ago for the non-type rated position. And now with a few years experience on the B737 I would like to apply again. Somehow my original application is still on there and can't be deleted, hence it won't let me apply again! Tried re-registering with a different email address, but receive an error message that the page has not been found.

Anyone else still unable to apply online due to error messages? Sent an email to the HR department so will see what they say....

Fly Better! 23rd December 2011 11:35

Yes me.
I tried re submitting my application but it won't let me. I'm type rated on the 737.

Considering jobs outside aviation now I hear you get Christmas and weekends off with non flying jobs!

woolyalan 23rd December 2011 12:28

I hear you get Christmas and weekends off with non flying jobs!
and if you work for JCB you get a 5.2% pay rise and a Christmas bonus!

Luxury!

spider_man 3rd January 2012 14:31

Has anybody who attended J2 pilot assessment days in November or December, and passed, heard anything since?

punk666 3rd January 2012 19:16

We should be hearing something sometime soon so I was told. The delay due to fleet manager being on annual leave and also the holiday period.

Fat Dog 3rd January 2012 19:29

Some people have been offered jobs today, both LHS and RHS (contract through Zenon).
