Never seen a company taken much effort into that area. Even thought they have these kind of policies (no beards, etc).
As long as you keep it neat and proper. Not homeless style, then everybody is happy

You know what I mean, dont you? It's not about ruler but about type of beard called after what you have on your face after one or two days without shaving - but well maintained.

It's that some say that beards prevent oxygen masks to create airtight seal between mask and your face in case of depresurisation while... I'm more than sure that Middle East airlines have nothing against beards.

Still no answer for that. Anybody?

I personally know a couple of Wizz pilots wearing beards, so definitely not forbidden, at least as long as you keep it relatively well maintained...

I’ve never heard someone was told off regarding the beard in Wizz .....i think it shouldn’t be your primary concern ...there are bunch of pilots with different hair style and beard so try focusing on something more relevant.Wizz is friendly airline and relaxed....it ain't US Air Force with Yes Sir Captain Sir and stuff.....

A320baby 12th Dec 2019 15:42

Absolute nonsense! When I was there I had a beard! I know people there who still have beards! Complete tosh!

ps Wizz is a great place to work! Great airline great management great colleagues!

dirk85 12th Dec 2019 22:22

I beg to differ on the management part but hey, it’s a free country.

A320baby 12th Dec 2019 22:51

Yeah I heard that too. Like most of slavic nations... I was just wondering since friendliness and so on is one thing while procedures (sometimes weird and hard to be understandable) are totally different thing. And as I said - I heard that there are few airlines (Mentour, Captain Joe and some other pilot-youtubers mentioned it at some point) that request their pilots to not wear any kind of beard because it might be dangerous in case of cabin depressurization. I've been wondering if it really is a thing.

Well it's nonsense.

Do not ever listen to pilot youtubers. I understand that at the beginning you are looking for information and you never really know where to look for them at first, but YouTube is definitely not the place.

Having said that, beards for guys and pony tails for girls don't cause any issue. Lipstick on the other hand yes, if a girl has to immediately don the mask.

That´s before I even mention jet lag or living in countries far, far away.
Just like you, I can´t wrap my head why some people would accept THAT for a little more money.

Yeah, those people are stupid and overpaid.

hahahahahahahahaha! You guys are losers. No wonder why Emirates and Qatar are never hurting for pilots. You accept this tosh and defend it. Our FO’s in the US make more than double your Captains. Double! They get paid during training, they don’t pay for it. Pathetic. Make another excuse or some bs explanation, defending your sorry state of affairs.

dirk85 15th Dec 2019 07:37

But you conveniently forget to mention how until a few years ago regional FOs were making less that a refueler in europe... and how quickly the big companies were furloughing people 10 years ago.

Yes most likely halfway 2020. They’re finalizing the paperwork so should be a done deal

JliderPilot 18th Dec 2019 15:41

4runner, the obvious flaw in your plan is that you have to move to the US or middle east. Not everyone's cup of tea (or Coffee).

LNAV737 19th Dec 2019 07:46

Middle East

It’s not a base it’s an airline on UAE A6 registration

randon 20th Dec 2019 01:12

Curious about Wizz T & C in UAE...

giord 26th Dec 2019 17:21
