I was talking with a broker yesterday and he told me that this program doesn t exist anymore, they only offer SFO position then once inside you have to wait and apply...

Hi.

With 8000 hours TT and 3000 PIC (factorized) on Airbus 320, what will an average basic salary be?
PPJN states a range in basic salary of 45.000 - 81.000 euros.

What to expect?

Thanks!

BarryMG 17th Aug 2019 14:42

These are base salaries, on top of that you get sector pay as described in lower section of PPJN - all gross. You will start at the lowest base salary - 45k. The increments are only based on Wizz PIC time (€4k more after every 1000hrs)

Hey man, online video interview was pretty much easy, they asked few questions about yourself, your life experience, technical questions that they asked me were
What are the effect of flaps on take off ground run
What is tropopause
How many type of drag i know
(there were other 2 questions but I don't remember them, but were so easy)
Than the real interview at Budapest, we were in 10 people, they started from companies presentation their future plans, how many planes are coming, new routes and all that stuff, and than the ATPL part 😭😭😭were not easy at all, I got atleast 12 math questions few were easy few were tough, than questions about runway lights, drag, who is COO of wizz air, few Navigation chart a guy behind me had 10 of those FLIGHT PLANNING chart, what is grid mora in this altitude, except math questions all other were easy if yu r prepared on TECHNICAL INTERVIEW BOOK, than we had group excersice, they di divided us in 2 groups but with same exercise, planes are taking off one have green tail pane carrying cacao, one red tail plane carrying rice another going from Brazil to Manila, other departing at 8 o'clock from Hamburg carrying rice, another flying from Paris to Geneva at 7 o'clock carrying caccao, our task were which plane is going to Madrid and which one is carrying tea, we didn't find anything, but they don't care about that, what they want to see is CRM in between the group, unfortunately I didn't pass the interview
Good luck mate, and study atpl questions hard.. 😊

GomuGomuPilot 29th Aug 2019 10:04

Oh thanks for the feedback. ATPL has always been my weakness. Looking forward to it. Thanks for the feedback.

GomuGomuPilot 16th Sep 2019 14:05

Hey guys, going to Budapest for the 2 day assessment, just wanted to know if there is any latest feedback from the interview (if you remember any of the questions will help).
Also does anyone know if they ask you about your last flown aircraft in the interview for NTR cadets.
Also if there is any failure during sim or is it just a normal take off, steep turn, stalls etch and landing? Thanks.

BarryMG 16th Sep 2019 15:58

Can't help with current questions, but for NTR FO - yes, they will ask you about your current/previous aircraft, some technical/operational questions (they want to know if you actually know your stuff). As for the sim - no failures for NTR, just takeoff, some maneuvers, ils approach - everything raw data, no AP, no FD, no ATHR

Great, Thanks for the help.

When I went to Wizz Air, you could choose between 3 airports.

One guy would fly a SID and the other a radar departure. Expect steep turns and raw data flying to track a VOR or NDB and to hold over it and then full procedural ILS from the same navigation aid.

Any feedback from the open day in Madrid?

strobelighton 27th Sep 2019 16:27

Is there any truth to the rumour of Wizzair looking to open a LGW base?

I'd say it's as unlikely as the rumours of transatlantic from LTN, mainly due to AM landing fees.

Further inbound expansion off peak to up to 20 flights a day I can imagine, a base, likely not.

Banana Joe 28th Sep 2019 12:29

When I went to the selection a few months ago, they said that if they had to open new bases, Italy would be likely.

dirk85 28th Sep 2019 12:38

They have been talking about bases in Italy and Germany for at least 5/6 years, if not more. Don't hold your breath.

Agree. Austria was natural for them, Italy isn't. I'd expect Tallinn to be their next base and increases on their existing bases in the short term, Italy with unions simply won't work for Wizz IMO, as although they look a good employer, a lot of their routes would be 4 sectors a day meaning higher pay levels.

There are a lot of holes in Wizz's existing bases, so the priority surely should be to fill these before going for another Western European market.

PilotRoger 2nd Oct 2019 11:45

I guess now the main priority is to get slots from TC in LGW, if goes successful then any other base opening should stay in stand by. Is too much risk to open many bases at the same time.

Guys, if any of you were invited to the interview even though you had less than 300 hours? I'm wondering if it's worth applying if I have about 250 hrs.

Probably not, they've been known to auto-reject people who don't meet their requirements.

I've now taken the plunge and applied (been thinking about it for a while), but I'm an experienced (12 years LHS) A320 Captain which will probably go against me too.
