What Now 25th Apr 2013 14:25

Eye hand with my Macintosh track pad was a trifle tricky, although that may have had something to do with the concurrent hangover.

EMB-145LR 25th Apr 2013 18:26

Did anyone not finish the maths test? I got stuck on a question at the end and didn't see how many questions there were left.

assymetricdrift 25th Apr 2013 18:31

I don't think I quite managed to finish any test at all in that lot.

Timing is a little bit constricted!

JB007 25th Apr 2013 18:52

I thought the 'Preferred Working Style' test is the most relevant and interesting hoop I've ever jumped through as a pilot! Written by someone with experience. Would love to see the results of this test from a large number of pilots...

speedrestriction 25th Apr 2013 22:15

JB007, agreed! It seems as though the questions might even have been written by someone with experience at the pointy end of the operation! Interesting. Verbal reasoning test was quite time constrained I thought. Still if easy are going to charge for selection/interview I'm not interested.

WX Man 26th Apr 2013 08:08

Is the measurement of spatial awareness one like this?

http://i43.tinypic.com/8wgyzq.png

Immelmann1979 26th Apr 2013 08:42

I think though that the time constraints are meant to see how fast and accurate the subject is... not that he/she can answer everything in time..
This way they can see wether you will trade accuracy for speed or vice versa... :suspect:

Superpilot 26th Apr 2013 08:49

Why do I get a feeling that the guys waiting towards the end of the cut-off date are going to do better! :{

eaglesnest1972 26th Apr 2013 08:59

I am pretty sure ezy guys will also take into consideration how much time did it take to complete the tests mate.
Not sure waiting until the very last day is the right option...

eaglesnest1972 26th Apr 2013 09:13

Did that:\:*:bored:

spider_man 26th Apr 2013 09:23

Non type rated easyjet recruitment?

What about a joystick as opposed to a mouse for some of these tests. Has anyone tried?

smalljetpilot 26th Apr 2013 10:43

tests

I did the tests this morning and largely ok but I guess they'll probably use it as way of discarding 75% of the applications if they have 3000 applicants for 100 jobs!!!
didnt like the complex handling one much but then I dont spend my life playing computer games..........

eaglesnest1972 26th Apr 2013 12:51

100?
I thought we were talking about 200 new pilots...
Am i wrong?

Alexander de Meerkat 26th Apr 2013 13:46

eaglesnest1972 - On one level you are not wrong. However, nothing is ever what it seems. We are indeed taking 200 pilots, but 100 of them are effectively already spoken for in the form of cadets from the likes of CTC, Oxford MPL etc.

Sean Dillon 26th Apr 2013 13:46

It's a filtering process indeed! A bench-mark will be set and if you score below it you will indeed, be discarded. Not exactly a proven method of getting the right people for the job but I guess it's a big airline now and interviewing 1000's of people isn't practical! I was there when it had 737's and James McBride so don't take my word for it!

eaglesnest1972 26th Apr 2013 14:36

Sad but true...
Thanks Alexander.

What Now 27th Apr 2013 10:02

My macbook trackpad worked fine but use a mouse on a mates computer. I really wouldn't advice a trackpad for it.

MikeHoncho 28th Apr 2013 09:48

I completed the test this morning. It was harder than I thought it would be. But we'll see. Doing the handling excersise make sure you don't have a sweaty underarm resting on your desk, it can cause a unwanted collision :ok:

Griego 28th Apr 2013 11:01

if they believe there is no cheating in this kind of assessment they must unbelievable stupid or they are smart.
Let's believe that they are smart.
This means that they have build in some ways of detection. So if you start using calculators or have 3 buddies helping you at the same time they must find out. Easy in the second round were you will do the same kind of test but without aid. (but at least you made it to the second round!)
In other cases they had a couple of easyjet pilots doing the tests making up a demographic of the kind of pilot they want. Somebody knows about this profiling?
At the end better to be yourself than to smart (or to stupid)?

dan1165 28th Apr 2013 11:20

- A test of your ability to work with complex verbal information in a written form (10 minutes) . In fact only 6 mn are allocated for the test :ooh:

Direct DIKRO 28th Apr 2013 12:20

That 6 minutes goes really fast!

Hats off to anyone that manages to finish it!

Still got a few more to finish, good luck ladies and gents:-)

master_warning 28th Apr 2013 15:44

Did anyone get a confirmation email once the tests were completed, or just the 'thank you for completing the tests, please log out....' message on the assessment website once finished?

MikeHoncho 28th Apr 2013 16:30

I just got the "please bugger off you suck" message :} no confirmation email.
Now just wait another couple of weeks for the answer

canadairjet900 29th Apr 2013 08:45

Easyjet

Hello everyone! I´ve received the first mail (we´ve received your profile) on the 29th of March.
The invitation for the online assessment was the 18th of April.
I finished the online assessment a few days ago, and I´m still waiting for the results. I think we´ve to wait until the online process is active (i think 6 of May).
Good luck!!

Expo757 29th Apr 2013 09:14

Just completed the assessment. Straight forward I would say apart from the verbal reasoning which is really time critical.

5000 hours TT. B757/767/737 and on command shortlist with current company.

fingers X

Guy of Gisborne 29th Apr 2013 09:21

Completed the tests today, nothing too tricky. Even if I'm selected I won't agree to pay for my own rating. I hope everyone else follows suit.

Non type rated easyjet recruitment?

I haven't done the test yet, I haven't been able to put aside the time just yet (work, kids and redecorating the house). Just out of interest how long does the whole process take.

I'm the same as Guy. I won't (can't afford to) pay for my own rating.

Superpilot 29th Apr 2013 09:49

2 hours to be comfortable.

Incidentally, anybody else had a problem where after completing a test, your results failed to transfer to their server? One of my test results did, and it gave me the opportunity to copy and paste from a text box and send them manually.

Expo757 29th Apr 2013 10:42

What on earth was the point of applying then?
John smith, the package has not been communicated from an official course within EZY yet. So far there has only been some speculation about the package on the table.

It is to risky to not apply as it doesnt happen every day that they open the recruitment to non type-rated pilots ...

spider_man 29th Apr 2013 11:27

Did you indicate in the initial application that you would NOT be willing to self fund a rating, yet still get that invitation for online selection?

WX Man 29th Apr 2013 12:20

Anyone tried using a PS3 or XBox controller?

PressTheTit 29th Apr 2013 14:02

WTF !

I know where the term One Arm Paper Hanger comes from now ! :ugh:

WX Man 29th Apr 2013 15:34

.... I take it you're referring to the tests!

letic 29th Apr 2013 17:05

ATPL A corresponds to JAR licence from what I know

SR71 29th Apr 2013 17:30

What on earth was the point of applying then?
What on earth is the point of agreeing to pay for the rating except to continue the ongoing emasculation of pilots generally?

Applicants ought to grow a collective spine and return the balance of power to our profession not the MBA's who get rich off your hard work under the guise of "representing shareholders interests" and move on to the next industry at the drop of a hat.

:ok:

vrb03kt 29th Apr 2013 20:03

Why on earth would we not apply john_smith? It's a speculative application. Easyjet have been extremely light on detail so there is no way of knowing at this stage if the type rating will cost £300, £30,000 or be "self-sponsored" by way of a bond and if there is even a decent contract on offer.

For me, and I imagine many others, it will have to be significantly better than my current employment deal to consider it. Perhaps that won't matter; maybe there will be hundreds of unemployed people with experience willing to sell their soul for a chance to fly for ezy, and maybe there won't. Either way, if I didn't apply I would have no chance at all.

WX Man 30th Apr 2013 17:53

That tunnel thing with the mouse was quite fun! I think they should release it as an app for people to kill time on whilst sitting on trains.

flyer19832007 1st May 2013 21:19

What the hell was the verbal test about!! I think even with the advertised ten minutes it would still be solid!

Ah well, we shall wait and see whether the PFO email arrives after the 7th!
