Murtoman, can I ask you how long you waited from successful assessment to being offered a start date/date of employment?

Not too long, couple of months maybe. Though must be said that I passed on the first date they offered for various reasons and the next one was about 4 months later.

Hi Guys and Girls,

Is there an average time that you can expect to be in the ‘talent pool’? If you’re getting close to the 12 month mark are they likely to do what BA do and kick you out and make you reapply from the beginning? They are continually recruiting however I know they have a huge training burden.

Cheers!

FlyboyUK 17th Sep 2018 09:25

It does seem to be a long time for some people. In my case a few years ago it was 7 months after passing the DEC assessments before I was given a start date for a UK base.

Hi guys, are there any EasyJet pilots who can confirm if NTR pilots joining have to pay for their own TR or is it a 3 year service bond for example. Im actually enquiring for a friend who is not a ppruner as he would be interested in joining EasyJet but not paying for a 30K TR as 1, he cannot afford it, 2 Probably would not be able to get the loan and 3 Just not prepared to pay to work even if he could get a loan.

Any help would be much appreciated

Bob8052 17th Sep 2018 12:02

It’s actually around £22k, and with BALPA there’s a chance you can claim £8.5k back in tax. As for not wanting to pay for their training, well plenty of others will so when they reach the front of the queue they can either accept it or let easyJet look over their shoulder at the next guy in the line. It’s a tough choice but in my opinion well worth the investment.

Hi

i am considering to apply for easyjet swiss. Does anybody know how a roster looks like? Something like 5/3 or 5/4? Plan would be to commute, if positive.

thank you.

Nil further 17th Sep 2018 18:33

QR77X iS that DEC or FO ? Last i heard ALL F/O recruitment was on a 75% contract only ?

Lazydogg 17th Sep 2018 18:43

What a sad state of affairs. EXPERIENCED pilots debating whether to pay for a rating to work for this lot.

Only random rosters in Switzerland. New contract is being negotiated but I don’t know if fixed roster is a priority.

Many DEFO got hired on a 100% contract. Balpa is working on a reduction of the forced part time for everybody fyi.

That’s in the UK, in the rest of the European bases only full time contracts are offered.

Daddy Fantastic 23rd Sep 2018 11:03

Why is EasyJet advertising for self sponsored NTR pilots to join and be based in Portugal when they supposedly dont make you pay for a TR out of Portugal. I believe they do in other bases, so what changed?

Has anyone done the Easyjet on-line assessment for NTR FOs? I'm specifically looking at the application for "current Flying Instructors" but I'm guessing that it is fairly standard. Any info, particularly on the nature of :

easyJet Co-Pilot Situational Questionnaire
Complex Control
Spatial Orientation
Multi-tasking Capability (avi)

would be much appreciated.

Thanks

skyhigh1234 24th Sep 2018 19:16

I’m based in Portugal with Easy, DEC and I love it. It’s a fantastic place to work, straightforward days, great crews and contract reasonable for what I need. Each to there own lifestyle depended on what your needs are but suites me perfectly. Anybody interested I have plenty of info regarding contracts, taxes, assessment commuting etc etc so feel free to message with any questions and I’ll be happy to answer. The contract is certainly not rubbish as others have said and CERTAINLY not a terrible place to work.

I subscribed to the easyjet tests on www.latestpilotjobs.com and they were almost identical... I would definitely recommend it!

Good luck!

Direct entry Cpt/FO based in Portugal

Good morning,
I’m next to relocate in Portugal together with my family.
Direct entry SFO.
We will be relocating from Mid East, so it will be a big move for us.
I’m quite interested in receiving any suggestions and tips regarding Contract and possible solutions where to live and schools for kids (Considering any possible suggestion on this matter, I’m quite interested in Cascais as a possible district where to start my research. Already in touch with one estate agency in loco).
Any help will be highly appreciated as we’ll be next to our move.

Skyhigh1234 I was reading you’re based in Portugal.
May I text you to get some hints about taxes, estate agents (if you know any) and contract?

Thanks and regards.

Of course!

How long does it normally take Easyjet to get back to you once you are thru the online assessment bit and have been told you successfully completed that part?

I did the assessment for Portugal first officer about 10 days ago and was wondering if others did and have heard anything. I am an experienced pilot with over 5200 hours and 2 jet type ratings under my belt but applying for A320 NTR.

Could others who have recently got jobs and those waiting shed any light on the process and what to expect going forward.

Thanks

Globally Challenged 26th Sep 2018 10:20

I did mine several weeks ago and still sat at successful.

Someone earlier mentioned assessments planned for November ...

ALPHA 69 29th Sep 2018 18:16

Hello Altair,

Sorry could you explain a bit further what is this STAR discussion about, what they want to see from you?
Thanks!

Can anyone share Lisbon FO take home monthly pay?

It’s the roster random or fixed pattern?

Thanks

torallin 5th Oct 2018 15:04

Can anyone shed light on how long it takes from you get the message you are in the pool until you are offered a start date at the moment?

As an SFO you would probably be averaging 4.000€ net a month (times 14 payments as you get double pay twice). Plus the yearly bonus which would probably be in the region of another 4.000€ net this year.

The roster is FRV by default, with some 5on/4off roster availability for CPTs and SFOs - granted based on seniority of those applying. I believe there is some kind of pay cut involved on moving from FRV to 54 rosters.

Cheers.

Would you put some context to this- when did you pass and are you a DEC rated or non rated?!

Floatlover 5th Oct 2018 16:50

Fall 2018 as a NTR FO.

Cheers

Recruitment

does anyone have an email address contact for EasyJet recruitment they would be willing to PM me? I’m keen to apply but don’t have an EU passport and want to discuss options with them.

Kaizen 18th Oct 2018 09:27

Quick question for the German based pilots; has the FO (or SFO) salary been lowered? I seem to recall (could be bad memory though..) it was around 72k gross (FO)... on the ezy career site I now see 61k gross? Or is it a 6 month temporary thing? Cheers!

PatelV6, may I ask what the assessment was like, specifically the sim...how tough was it and what was involved?

Also the HR face to face and is there a technical question session written or oral?

drag king 18th Oct 2018 16:02

Goord afternoon guys and gals,

Anyone in the run for a DEFO in LIS? I had the thumbs up for the online test few weeks ago, could not make it to the tech-interview this month so I am waiting for the Dec's dates to become available.
Meanwhile I am after some information Re. the interview process itself. I understand that if held in LTN it might wrap together the Q&A with the SIM session while other venues i.e. LIS would imply that the SIM is left for a later date, is that correct?
Anyone with some tips, feedback, notes from previous and recent experience willing to share?
Also: do they have a factored-hours scheme still in place? I did some Google-search but what has come up seems outdated so any fresh details are very welcome.
Last but not least: the figures that can be found on PPJN Re. the different contracts (i.e. UK vs. ITA vs. PT vs...) are they reliable?

Thanks in advance

DK

BizJetJockey 30th Oct 2018 09:24

Any NTR FO talent pool swimmers recently offered starts dates for LGW/LTN or other U.K. bases for that matter? If so when did you get accepted into the pool?

Nil further 30th Oct 2018 12:06

UK FO recruitment is supposedly only on a 75% contract ?
Even if curent in type ?

Anyone had a recent UK FO offer ?

Daddy Fantastic 30th Oct 2018 12:09

Anybody care to share their experience with regards to the sim check for CA and DEFO and what is involved?
Which sim centre do they use in LGW?

CaptainProp 30th Oct 2018 14:36

They are advertising left right and center for rated and non-rated crew so my guess is that training program is set and slots filled for this winter and that's why you guys are not getting course starts. That's my best guess after adding up some information from friends who work for easyjet.

Daddy Fantastic 4th Nov 2018 07:32

Anybody care to answer a couple of questions?

1. What is involved with regards to the sim assessment and if interviewing in Gatwick where do they do it?

2. Where do they do the type rating for DEFO and CA after offered a position with EasyJet?

VJW 4th Nov 2018 15:02

  • Austrian or German EASA Class 1 unrestricted medical by easyJet start date

This requirement is also stated on EasyJet’s Berlin and Switzerland recruitment.

If you are in the pool, its going to be a long swim for UK licence holders. Don’t hold your breath .

I think they’ve cut and paste that from the wording used on all the non UK based recruitment.

Those of us based in the UK will remain (lol) on UK issued licences and medicals. Everyone else on mainland Europe is currently being switched to Austrian.

I could be wrong but those who want a UK Base will still need a UK licence as you’ll be flying the aircraft remaining on the G register.
