Sounds like a lot of people being invited for interview were previously swimming in the hold pool. Good on BA for giving them priority as they promised.
Has anyone who wasn't previously in the hold pool been invited to interview yet and if so, when did you apply and what is your experience. I might be getting a bit paranoid. |
Yup, I was in the hold pool but have had very good personal contact since this recruitment has been open.
Was 750 hour turboprop last time, added a couple of thousand since. Best of luck guys. |
I have been invited to an assessment and heard quickly after applying. (wasn't in the hold pool before)

It's a hoop jumping exercise. Jump through them all and get a job. If you can't be arsed to use a spell checker or dictionary for something so important, then IMHO you don't deserve to continue through the process, no matter how well you fly.
The day currently entails a quick brief, a group exercise, lunch time Q&A, verbal and numerical tests (the same ones they have had since I applied for a cadetship), PILAPT test (this is only the capacity test bit. Keep the cross centralised whilst number sequence is running and the coloured shapes) and last but not least the 2 on 1 interview. The interview is made up of the same questions that you find in this rather long thread. The day is a bit quicker than it used to be due to reduced PILAPT test. Generally two sessions run during the day. One starts at 08:30 the other at 11:30, we had only 6 people in each group. A nice number as you get to know each other a bit better and remember names for the group exercise. A mixed bunch of good guys on our day, hope you all got through. No sim slots are available (via login) when you get invited, you will receive a phone call to attend the sim. Good luck to all |
I also got a quick invite to the assessment day and wasnt in the previous hold pool.
Can anyone post a typical example of the verbal reasoning and numerical reasoning questions? Just trying to get a feel of the length and difficulty. Ive had many of these psychometric tests throughout the years and they vary vastly depending on the company. Also, any idea on the time between the assessment and SIM check? Good luck everyone! |
I applied on Saturday morning and have yet to hear anything. Anyone else in the same boat. 2500tt mostly on a Q4
|
Just be patient, I know it's frustrating but they process them all individually. The absolute definites will prob hear first then it's a case of wading through all the others in a little more detail to find the suitable candidates. You will hear back one way or the other. FWIW I applied last oct and it took 12 days to get an invite. Good luck everyone.

I suspect they are trying to decide which (if any) of the applications to process from Q4 drivers with 2500hrs. I guess that over half the pilots of a certain UK regional airline flying Q4s will apply! |
Well it looks like there are a few of us on the maybe pile. At this point, a better place to be than the no pile.
Let's hope to hear soon. |
Just wondered if anyone had any rumours or info for those of us in the holding pool as to when we are likely to see some more Airbus courses? (been swimming for nearly 4 months!)
|
Just to let some of the new people applying, when I attended Cranebank we were advised that all applications are screened by HR, there is no computer screening system. Hence it can take time to read so many applications and all the short stories attached.
Good Luck to all! :ok: |
Hi all, just be patient is my advice. I applied in Oct and had heard nothing for nearly a month but then got the e-mail with the invite. It may take some time but think of the HR dept and how many they are having to get through. As has already been said they are all read by people and not auto sifted by computers.
Good luck to all. |
Hi guys, in reply to one of the threads, I went for interviews in mid May and got the yes a week later. I am still waiting for my sim date. It's slow, but I think all good things come to those who wait :)
|
With regards verbal reasoning.
SHL provide the test, look at their website. You can do a practice test that is very similar, without the answers unfortunately, but you will get your score. Otherwise google will take you to a website for Kent University which has loads of good stuff, as well as many others. |
So did anyone hear today?
|
No luck yet - application got sent off around end-of-business on Wednesday and nothing back yet... keeping the fingers crossed and hoping that no news is good news!! :uhoh:
|
Apart from the SHL stuff that BA recommend to use for the selection does anyone know of any other software that is worth purchasing?
I came across Pilot computer test software: pilot aptitude test, job application, pilot recruitment. Anyone used this before? Anygood? |
Chill guys - it was about 10 days after the closing date for the B757/767 drive before I got the invite to day 1!
Re: software - cockpitweb is the one to go for but, personally, I don't think it's that useful. You only do one test (capacity) on the day and the software ain't cheap! |
First 11 747 DEP's have appeared on the bidpack for September.
