Contractair and Resourcegroup always late with payment
Gents, I have been on many contracts, but never been paid so late and irregularly as with Contractair and their sister company Resource Group.
They don't seem to communicate very well either. Anybody has the same or opposite experience with them? Am I just unlucky?

Avoid. Some untrustworthy folk in there I discovered after I left. Payment was usually on time but not people with integrity once they lost their cut.my contract was 12 months some while ago now, perhaps it's changed but maybe not. One particular agent was very slippery when the money flow looked like drying up for him. It didn't in the end but he was ready to sell the guys he'd so sweetly talked in.

As a seasoned contract pilot I have experienced a lot (lot) worse and not much better. This is based on having completed x 2 contracts for them in 10 years, last one in 2013. Hope this helps.

So, a company that paid usually on time, but without integrity? And a slippery agent that was 'ready to sell the guys he'd so sweetly talked in...!' but in the end didn't.
Seriously? Not quite sure what you are getting at here, but sounds a little like 'I have an opinion, but no real facts' to me. Fair enough a rumour network it is, but really, this is horse c**p. Certainly living up to your name tag here!
The original point of the thread by PBY may have some veracity, or not, but this really didn't add any value.
There are some seriously bad agents out there that need to be exposed, but please do give some proper reasoned argument!!

I think what Inspector Clueless is saying is that the guy was very slippery when it looked like the money was running out and would have sold out the guys he'd sweet talked in. But in the end the money didn't run out so it didn't come to that.

@appleACE
Thanks for the clarification!
However, my point is that with such a titled thread, there is obviously a problem for one poster, and then someone with an agenda adds their 'considered' thoughts, basically to try and make Contractair look even worse.
Well, it smacks a little of maybe another agency stirring the pot. There is no helpful fact here to aid PBY in his issue.
It would be somewhat like me adding that people should steer clear of Airline 'X' because they use pilots who are completely unsafe because they nearly didn't pass their type ratings, but did in the end. Or that the DFO is a really slippery sod who in a safety situation would throw his crew to the wolves, but then actually didn't.
Basically, it adds exactly nothing to the conversation, and is usually called a waste of time.

Hmmm. Here's a question for PBY. If Contractair are really so bad, why can I find so few other references to them on PPRUNE? What exactly was your contract and what was the reason for late payment? Was it just you, or are you speaking for a whole group of pilots? I never had a regular problem with late payment and when I did have a problem with variable pay it was cleared up quickly.
This is a non-thread.

I have been working for them for one year. The contract was written very good for them and very bad for me. When I asked for some things to be changed, I was completely ignored. This is usually also the case when you ask for something they don't want to do. One of the big problems for me was also a very small retention of employees in this company. Every issue I had, I usually had to explain to two or three people before it was done. Not because they would transfer me to the next person, but because the first two gave notice before my issue was resolved. They are also very creative of interpretation of the contract. You will always be the one to be scr**ed at the end. Also they will be very unhelpful if you ask them to do something they are not used to do. My experience in one year is that this company is extremely unprofessional. If I would not leave the airline that I was working for, I would request to change the contracting agency. If you can choose, take someone else.

Ah you again Mike. Yep I know who you are........... You have a lot to learn in aviation it seems........... you wait until you work for a bad agency then you will have something to write home about. No gripes from my end however. Treated incredibly well by them.

You get the contractual details sorted before you sign anything. If the details are not to your liking, don't sign it. Simple as that. And if your requests for changes of contract details are reasonable I bet most agencies today will do their outmost to meet your requests. Thats my experience from negotiating contracts at least.

I was audited by xxx tax authorities for a very short contract done few years ago. I provided all the docs given to me by the agency. All the issues raised by tax authorities were highlighted by me when we signed the contract... I had written confirmation from them that "all is good, sign here..." so, I was not hanged.
In the end what got to them were 2 things:
1-they applied for social security exemption when they should have not
2-they tried to lie their way out to the points raised by Xxx tax Authorities
Hefty fine and...my lawyer(incidentally my mother) was very happy.

Well a lot of my colleagues work for this company and they are very happy indeed . Nine of the Brookfield crap always paid on time and if you look around they have the best contracts on the market Mike get over it just because they didn't renew your contract ! And agree with Captainprop one of the more intelligent posts I've seen
