Is the sim assessment conducted on 320 or 737 for NTR FO? It seems to change from times to times....

I did that. Doesn’t make any difference. You’ll currently pay for it one way or another - either upfront or through your net salary. To be honest I don’t regret joining for one second.

Does anyone have any knowledge of the rumoured 4 on / 4 off roster that is allegedly going to make an appearance at the UK bases (i.e. it is definite)? thanks.

There is no definite waiting list for AMS, just a regular bidding couple of times per year, based mainly on social criteria (house in the vicinity, relatives, language, etc).

Most of the dutch guys are commuting, look at the easyjet network from AMS. Italy a favourite, but super long list to get there (especially MXP with 5 daily ezy flights or so to AMS) as a Cpt.

And lets say everything is in your favour, how long then to come up? When getting the upgrade, will there be again a basechange?

If you are FO you can have it straight away, if you are lucky. Also any other base, actually. I have no clear statistics, but a course mate or mine joined MXP straight away as FO and got a transfer to AMS in about one year, for example.
You can bid for a specific base for the upgrade once you have a certain amount of hours and time in the company, and when your name is on top of the list for that specific base, you go for the command, and if you pass it, you end up there. Or like most you can upgrade in LGW as soon as you have the requirements, and then wait to transfer as a Cpt wherever you want, also according to the waiting lists.

Apologies if this had been covered before however is anyone able to offer an indication of monthly net take-home salary starting as an FO on a 75% contract?

Obviously very rough guide depending on sector pay so on but give or take £3000 after tax will have you in right ball park.

Is this a new thing or have all new entrant UK based CO-PILOTS always been forced onto a part-time 75% contract?

The problem is not with the new entrant FOs - I am told they were all being given 100% contracts. The problem lies with our current FOs who were being left on 75% contracts whilst new entrants get the good deals. That is directly contrary to our Union agreement and it is the source of great angst among our FOs. If therefore that is changing, that is exactly as it should be. I am told our Union guys are making a very big deal about this to ensure that our current FOs are not disadvantaged at the expense of new entrants. The whole 75% contract thing is really a dead loss and is so random in its application that it is largely unworkable. Like any airline, we have our problems - these 75% contracts are right at the top of that list.

Also, yes - UK sector pay is subject to full UK tax. Hope that helps.

I’ve just been through the NTR application, nowhere was I asked to tick any boxes about paying for rating, it’s not mentioned anywhere. Has there been a change at eJ?
