PFO after the aptitude tests. Reckon it was the RMI exercise. Couldn't for the life of me understand the example !!! Anyone else get confused on that?

It certainly wasn't conventional what really threw me was when the DG was. 90 degrees out from the RMI compass total head

I think the RBI example was stupid. It explained the basics of the RBI and the beacon and how the needle points to the beacon blah blah blah... Then you done the example and applied instrument theory and the example was wrong. Forget everything that was just explained to you in the introduction. The RBI is no longer an RBI it's a simple needle to be overlayed over the beacon which then points to the aircraft.

That's how I read the question but I got a PFO. 4k TT majority on 73.

I'm a PFO too.

Liked the paragraph that said: "it's not that you don't have the skills, we just couldn't find it anywhere"

3000 hours turboprops here.

A PFO for me also - 2500TT, civilian turboprop driver from the UK.

The very best of luck to those who made it through to the next stage.

If there indeed were 3,500 applicants and 200 alleged spots, then well over ninety percent will be told thanks, but no thanks. Was very different when I joined many moons ago as the company was screaming for pilots.

OK , I had to try the 'tunnel' thingy on my laptop's pad and the mental arithmetic hasn't always been my strong point , but I do wonder what the tests are telling them about our flying abilities . Just wondering . Wasn't my day either anyway . Good luck to those who passed .
10,000 TT DHC-6 , L410 , C208 ..etc...etc...
