Sim assessment dates?

I was one of the lucky ones that passed the DLR on the 14th Jan, and was wondering if anyone had been given a date for the simulator screening yet? For those of you that have a date for this, how long did it take from the DLR to getting a date (and how much notice of the session did you get?)

Regarding the sim screening, did they expect you to follow set speeds/configurations to clean up on the climb out and to slow for the approaches? (ie similar to airline SOPs).

Any answers would be much appreciated.

Hello to you all!

Can someone tell me how long it takes for an invitation for the sim? It's been almost 3 months since I received the email that I passed the DLR, I sent all the documents they asked. Maybe it's normal, I just wanted to verify..

Thx!

As you know, I was in Hamburg last friday 28/01....

I have received a mail from Doris Geiger late in the afternoon to indicate me that I passed !

The next step will be great, but terribly difficult !

Good luck to you all,

Expenses Covered?

Hi All,

I remember seeing it somewhere, maybe when I applied or on here, but i can't find it now. Are flights and 1 night accommodation costs for the DLR covered by Lufthansa? If so, are they claimed back or paid in advance to the candidate?

Many thanks

Post 4th February

Hi,

for those attending on the 4th this month. We are trying to arrange dinner at Ibis during the evening before the tests between 19.00-20.00, for the moment we are 3 people. You are welcome to join us. I'm staying at Motel One which is next by Ibis.

Cheers.

Question Final passage rate

Just to check it out, how many of the 1000+ people been invited to selection have been passed all of the stages and really offered a job in LHI?

I aware of one, an Italian guy with some experience in regional/cargo operator!

Any more guys been offered a job?
Where are you from and what kind of experience do you have?

Regards

Hi Pareira!

Would you be so kind to describe the simulator screening in greatest details possible? Also how long did it take between the successful GU outcome and the simulator date?

Much obliged!

Just for those of you yet to attend the DLR in HAM, these were my results the day before the test.

SKT: 94%
KRN: 56%
VLR: 93%
OWT: 85%
RMS: 34%
ROT: 90%
VMC: 78%
ENS: 98%

Most of the test results on here are from people who passed so here are some from me, who failed! Just to give you an idea.
Good luck

Post DLR

Hi guys,

just made it back from the DLR, so here comes a quick report:

The tests are done on a touch screen PC. No mouse.

English test: pretty much like the CBT training, just some slightly way of presentation. 50 questions total

KRN: 10 visual questions and 10 acoustic questions. CBT level 3.
Ex are: 7 to the power of 3, 25x27, (390/3+20) etc.

OWT: clocks are bigger, CBT level 3.

RMS: same as CBT level 2/3.

ROT: starts pretty slow, increases as you progress to level 3.

SKT: same as CBT, only difference is that the blue triangle which you get used to on the CBT is a cyan blue color.

VLR: same as CBT, again the only difference is that it's done in a smaller
box, about 10x10 cm. Increases level as you progress. Even some times it increases in some turns, maybe 2 or 3 times.

VMC: you start with 2 back, 3 back, 4 back, 4 back again and 5 back.

CRM: about 96 questions. easy to do, have to choose the answer that goes with your point of view.

Personality test: about 256 questions. If you speak Italian you have the choice to do it in Italian, then you get about 156 questions.

MIC: you have plenty of time to get used to it during the DLR (45 min), so in my opinion you don't need to buy any program online to practice. You use a joystick for controlling altitude and heading. Throttle is done on the screen with plus and minus buttons. Also the last 2 exercises include listening to the headphones, where a male voice says numbers from 1 to 10. Your task is to press a green button (also in the screen) when you hear 3 even numbers in a row (2,8,10) and a red button for odd numbers, also 3 in a row. This is done while you control altitude, heading and throttle. Like i said, you have time to practice all this before.

ATPL: same as on the forum.

1 to 2 weeks to get the results. So waiting time starts. I don't think will make it through, OWT, KRN and VMC didn't go as planed, so..

Good luck to all. It's a great experience to do this tests, makes you feel more ready for any other selection process. Also you meet great people.

Cheers!

Written CV

Hi, did anybody write his CV in essay style, like a narrative biography, or did you get away with the usual tabular style? I am asking because in the e-mail invitation I got, it is stated to bring along "a written curriculum vitae and a written curriculum vitae of your flight experience"
from previous posts it is clear that at least it doesnt have to be handwritten. Thanks for feedback on your experience.
Who is in for the DLR on February 25?
Cheers Tobitree

Tobitree:

I had the usual CV I always use. Tabular form and merged with experience from other work than aviation, though that is not very much. Printed from my computer.

For the "Additional Questions A" on the last page of the biographical data form I wrote in essay form and handwritten. Seemed to do the trick for me.

...Thanks.
I got the invitation end of october.
How about a book on CRM, for those who did not do an MCC yet and have to answer the CRM questions at the GU? Any suggestions or is it really only "common sense" and/or HPL from ATPL-Books? Cheers Tobitree
