What would the situation be for someone who was waiting for the result from the Sim assessment? Any chance at all now of a place in the hold pool or forget about it

Hi Akro,

I had my assesment recently. Do you have an assessment coming up?
If, so I will go thru the latest stuff. Read the Stuff on group exercises (BA Thread), Pass the Cathay Pacific Interview ( Tech Paper), and most importantly get the stuff on the Interview sorted out.

All DEP pilots in hold pool with Emb 145 experience now "not suitable" for DEP - only being offerred TRSS. That's after some of us waiting for over a year in the pool. Broken promises. Very disappointing.

FO's and taxiing

Bit off-topic but thought this was a good a place as any to ask.... Does EZY allow its FO's to taxi the aircraft or is it a Captains Only duty?

Just curious

And no parking on the airbus because most dockingsystem's are calibrated for LHS only.
So on those docking systems that can be used by both pilots is the f/o allowed to park?
How about rejected take off's?

In my airline no rejected take off's to f/o's , but every parking manouvre allowed to him if suitable visual aids are availabe.
Thanks

The company recruited too many DEC last year already, whilst there were SFO:s undergoing cmd assessments. The company needed captains very quick so thats why they employed so many DEC. Too many, with the results in their hands.

Today there are a lot of SFO:s waiting for a cmd course, both on the boeing and on the airbus. I think the total amount of SFO:s waiting for a course start is about 50. One friend of mine is nr 45, so minimum 50 anyway.

Although the company has now employed DEC anyway, but from CTC instead. The official comment was that they didnt see the "desperate" need in the middle of summer, but on Aug 1 there was this huge need suddenly. The unofficial report seems to be that since the company pays CTC to train a certain amount of pilots each year (now there is no training done at all and therefore the instructors dont have anything to do) easyjet has tried to use up the money spent on CTC by making them fly on line as captains.

For how long no one really knows, but it seems to be for some months.

Thats the way to do it, if you want to keep your pilots in the comany.
Or not.

Good luck

Is this true?
Can anyone else confirm it?

If it is true it's really sad.

With regards to the list for CMD course I would say its closer to 150-200....not 50...

As far as the CTC captains there are still a lot of rumours around and no real facts, BALPA has been involved lately and we are waiting further information. Company has confirmed that CTC captains were used as a temporary solution, for reason I can't remember at the moment, but one was given. Whatever reason, short or long term, I think it is totaly unacceptable in any case.

I can confirm that there are 6 CTC instructors flying on line on the 737. There are some CTC instructors on the 319 too, but I cant confirm how many they are.

The fun part is that depending on which department you talk to, they give you different answers on why the CTC guys are working for Ezy. Seems not to be to much of communication in between the departments.

.....and isn't that so unfair for the SFO's waiting for the upgrade that BALPA cannot do anything about it?

BALPA are too busy "keeping their powder dry" waiting for the "big one". Whatever that may be.
