I guess, obviously and unfortunately AERLINGUS is playing a bad game with all the candidates (both permanent and contract) who were willing to jump in and showed interest "to help them" with their recruting problem for the BFS base.
Having done the interview 8 weeks ago !! - still NOT ANY REPLY.
I didn't expect this behaviour. Well, may be from any lousy LCC but not from a well recognized, established international carrier like AERLINGUS with a good reputation worldwide
I am quite heavily disappointed the way the Irish Flag Carrier presently treats it's interested candidates. But may be they/we were used as pressurizing medium only.

So that puts the interview around 1st week of October. Right slap bang in the middle of the IFALPA recruitment ban...

I didn't expect this behaviour.
Neither did IALPA or the Aer Lingus pilots' from probable future colleagues. You must feel proud stabbing them in the back.

But may be they/we were used as pressurizing medium only.
You think?

There was never a recruitment problem with the Belfast Base!!!

Welcome to the real world!

If you think interested candidates are treated badly, think how they actually conduct business with their own employees!!

Still hiring DEC's apparently. Unrated and this time for courses in March and beyond.
I believe there are several more in the pipeline.
No rumour involved. It's fact and mildly interesting from the sidelines too considering the IALPA agreement was supposed to have stopped it. I'm just curious as to where it ends. Do both sides just pretend it isn't happening or will will they cobble together something meaningful that both sides can stick to.
'Apparently', that is to say 'I believe', you are the only source for this 'no rumour involved' 'fact'. Would you like to offer any evidence of this fact? You say you are curious as to where it ends, some of us aren't convinced it has even started. IALPA cause enough trouble as it is without feeding them with rubbish.

Missterrible, I know of several guys involved. I'm hardly going to give your their names so you can burn them at the stake am I? Get a grip love. Perhaps you should ask IALPA. Looks pretty much to me as if they know more than they are letting on.

Back on Topic.

So, are there guys still being interviewed or not?
Have the Interviews finished?

Apart from the 7 DEC's has anyone else that has been interviewed been offered either a position, Sim ride or Psycho testing?

What are the details regarding the BFS base?
How many will transfer from DUB?
What positions will be left ?
How many DUB F/O's are looking for upgrade?

There seems to be very little info coming from DUB!

Bad Robot.

Don't expect anybody to rush into giving you information. The management used you to try to break the union and as a potential scab the union won't give a damn about you.

COC,

Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought that the union and the management had resolved their differences ?

Is the ban still in place? If so, why have you not taken industrial action? If not and the interviews are on going,
I can't see a problem with that. Which is why I'm asking the questions.

crusty You are the type that has given EI pilots a bad rep.
Many of the guys that applied for positions and went through the recuitment system let management know that they would not accept positions until the dispute was resolved.
This for many of you out there wasn't enough. However, crusty you should be very careful using the scab word. You have no idea. It is very easy to judge from the side lines.

BR. As far as I am aware all interviews, testing and sims finnished a few weeks back. DECs notified weeks back, FO's found out over the last 2-3 weeks. i understand a number of guys have dropped out though and that they do have a small pool of reserves.

I understand that jobs are currently being offered and the DECs are now learning about “little extras” such as unexpected costs and no pay during training. Apparently the EI idea is that there are enough pilots out there who will accept this! Maybe EI is right. However word also has it that EI are discovered that several contacted pilots said "get stuffed" when this news was broken to them. They seem to feel that their terms are "superior" and are taken aback at this!

This came from an EI source, but can anybody confirm if this is true and what the extra charges are?

Max T, You forced me to re-read COC post and I have to agree with his sentiment. He judiciously uses the word potential. I cannot however agree with your summation of his not having a clue. He has not only a clue but the inside track, he talks from the front line not the side lines and fyi EI have an excellent reputation, especially since defending our position so strongly, an example to those closest to us.

So you defied an IALPA/IFALPA recruitment ban but told management you wouldn't accept a position until the dispute was resolved - how noble of you.

The fact is that you defied a recruitment ban and allowed yourself to be used as a pawn by management to attack the EI pilot body. That's how EI pilots see it.

What's that they say about elephants?

That is contrary to advice issued by the UK Union. Good to see the trade unions talk to each other
Several pilots have now declined EI's BFS contract and EI are as previously suggested quietly trying to fill slots in both seats for course in Jan, feb and March. There have been several sim checks recently and more pencilled in for the New Year (capt and FO)
