Job Offer Scam to take your money

This thread information also appears in the Rotorheads forum and currently has 47 pages within the thread. To ensure other pilots outside or not viewing that particular forum or thread are aware of a scam to take a pilots money, I thought it best to post here also. Perhaps you know of someone that has received this offer and should notify them of this Scam. I did not get pulled into this "To Good To Be True" Scam and hope this tread will prevent others from doing so either. The PPRune admins may feel otherwise and therefore revert back to the original thread. However, anyone on the internet trying to steal money from my fellow pilots should be of concern to everyone here.

There are some individuals posing as "Abu Dhabi Aviation COMPANY" using the real Abu Dhabi Aviation Logo and Titles. Additionally, and obviously working in conjunction with the group, there is an individual posing as being from the EMIRATES COUNCIL & IMMIGRATION SERVICES COMMISSION. The job offer states $14,450 US tax free salary with first class travel, VIP accommodations, etc..

However, after corresponding with you a few times they state they will need $1,351 US to process visa and documentation before they can continue. The "General" (see below) will also contact you by telephone to attempt to validate the offer and convince you to send the money.

This is all a scam to get your money. To prove this I wrote to the actual Abu Dhabi Aviation Headquarters asking about the following individuals included in the Scam job offer correspondence:

General Abdullah Zayed Sultan,
Human Res. Division Manager.
Abu Dhabi Aviation Company

Captain. Ali Rashid Al Jarwan
Project Administrator,
Abu Dhabi Aviation Company

Prof. Jardan T. Musaffah, PHD
Head of Operations/External Affairs
EMIRATES COUNCIL & IMMIGRATION SERVICES COMMISSION

They sent me a reply as a "Form Letter" (see below) confirming their knowledge of the scam (pdf couldn't scan and import all into this forum, but here is the main brunt of the letter).

I hope this helps anyone receiving a job offer from the above individuals and act as a WARNING to stay away from them! I only wish the Abu Dhabi Government would do more to investigate and apprehend these individuals. However, they may be operating from outside the UAE. If anyone is in UAE, near Abu Dhabi, or knows of UAE/Abu Dhabi Government officials? Please contact them and ask them to investigate!

To Whom It May Concern

We apologize for the impersonal reply to your query, but we have been inundated with correspondence concerning this subject which has required our response to be a "form letter".

Abu Dhabi Aviation is known by no other name, does not employ through any recruitment agency and does not require any transfer of funds for any reason for employment. There are two or more entities conducting fraudulent activities concerning employment with our Company.

Be warned that those prospective employees reporting this activity did so by making contact via the internet from a web site other than our official site www.adaviation.com.

Google suggests the same people or at least someone also calling themselves "Dr. Abdullah Zayed Sultan" and "Prof. Jardan T. Musaffa" are doing the same scam but in the oil industry...

Sounds to me just like yet another spin on the traditional 419 scam.

Take a look at www.419eater.com - these guys bait the scammers and basically waste their time. Makes some humourous reading at times. It also has a bit of background on this type of scam...
