Somebody was asking if the level of resignations from FlyBE were being exaggerated. Well, from my course less than 2 years ago only one captain and 2 F/Os remain out of 10. That, in anybody's terms, is pretty poor retention figures.

Alpha Charlie,
the ballot results were in earlier than I anticipated.
Rumour has it that there was an 80% vote, with a 2-1 "no" majority to the Flybe/CC proposals.
Next step is for Balpa to meet with Jim French.

2500 TT, most turboprop, frozen ATPL. Same as kd2473: emailed for details and got package details 5 days later, along with an invitation to apply via an attached form. The package confirms £26191 etc...

Hmmm I thought they needed skippers? Very odd. Well, maybe we all annoyed them at some point in the past, I can't believe they wouldn't at least respond to DEC candidates if they are so desperate. Mind you, it's al;ways been a bit like this with flybe...

I read the advert the other day on there website, 2500hrs, current command or a recomendation for command. Are they the minimum hours or are they saying that and are really after more experienced folk. At presant I've got 2300hrs(2500 by the time I would have worked my resignation period), about a thousand on a turboporp and a recomendation for command(but low down the seniority list at my place).
Do you think its worth me wandering along to edi later this month?

Homer_J,
I would say you were right up their street with that level of experience.
Ask the majority of the newly promoted Dash F/O's, as that is exactly the same level of experience that they have.
Some have had upgrades with less.

Oh, dear. Apparently I've been rude. Well so would you if you were about to drop dead, I say drop dead!!
Right - the truth. Pay etc. ballot rejected overwhelmingly. 63% of a 79% 'turnout' of members against. I make that about half the workforce. Cabin staff joining the T&G at a rate of knots - Union recognition can't be far off. 26 (I think) pilots presently working their notice with more in the pipeline (the '3 calendar months' thing encourages people to resign on the last day of the month).
Time for JF and team to wake up and smell the coffee.
OK - imagine a gamine, youthful Tony Blair and altogether sing ....thi-i-i-n-g-s can only get better....

Any news about it ? What are your feelings about possible improvements of the new joiners T's and C's ?

I just got an email from flybe today with the requirements and so on. One of there stipulations is that the experience must be on an ac with a mtow of 15Ts. All my experience is on a turboprop of 13Ts. I was going to email back and ask if this rules me out, but I was also going to go along on thursday to edi(I'm in gla). I'm guessing If I emailed them, I wouldn't get an answer back before thursday, yet I don't want to go to edi if I'm waisting my time(and money on petrol).
Would anyone in the know think this might be a problem. Or do you think there a bit flexible on there requirements?
Also, from the people who when to birmingham, what were they saying or offering. Was it a 30min lecture on how great flybe is, or was it an informal interview to those interested or......
Anyway. thanks.
ps, has anyone else noticed the fashion of refering to yourself over the radio as "the" ryanair, easy, british 123abc ended?

Hello Bleeds,
The first year for new joiners not looking paticularly good (ie starting salary of £23,000 and a non-reducing 3 yr £13,000 bond) as, to be frank, negotiations have come to a standstill regarding current pilots pay and terms, let alone having anyone batting for new starters.
Until the results of the meeting are known, anything else posted here would just be speculation.

It's quite difficult to get their logic on this issue with regards to the alleged amount of resignations. They might reckon with the fact that the relatively unexperienced starters would be satisfied with the proposed T's and C's.
But considering the possible prospect of a significant amount of their FO's to be vaccumed elsewhere, that would leave them with unexperienced guys / girls on the right hand seat. If u combine that with freshly rated Captains on the Q400, how about safety then...
For having myself (like all of us) been unexperienced, Iwas rather reassured to have Commanders who were really technically mastering the A/C besides me.
Bleeds
