i'm afraid it is, after the type rating has been deducted on a bad month your salary can be as low as £1800net. As stated the t&c's are very poor and getting worse in comparison to other loco's. Balpa th only way in my opinion.
My CV's now doing the rounds.I dont want to be the only one left!

That's pretty damn good for turboprop pay Maude. Is that after pension contributions?
I only ask because i have a mate trying to get in to FlyBe and if you guys get paid £34500 straight off i'm not surprised the competition is a bit harsh!
It certainly beats the £18000 i was paid to fly an ATP in the late 90's.

Here's some continental input;
2683 Euros ($3310 USD/ £1858) before tax
1665 Euros ($2054 USD/ £1153) after tax
last month figures FO 737
and yes.... I am starting with another company soon, while management is having another brainstorm session over why they're loosing their highly valued staff.

I'm glad to have made the right choices..
Tired of lthe lack of perspectives and unable to sustain myself on those crappy salaries...I finally decided to go for an air ops manager position with an international humanitarian position despite ATP trained.
Now the facts:
72000$ per month after tax + free house and vehicle + excellent pension scheme + training scheme + DOING SOMETHING MEANINGFUL

Dash 8 FO basic is about 24k pa, before tax. And they want to reduce that for new joiners. Unless you're getting jet pass over pay, which I suspect you're not as a "new FO". Plus about 3k pa duty pay...before tax! I suspect actual take home is about 1800/1900...unless you're doing more hours than I am...which I doubt!

BA connect f/o take home pay varies between £1500 to £1900 a month. If you are asked to work days off then this really boosts the salary. This is flying the Dash 8.
I know of guys who have worked through nearly all their weeks leave when needed. Thats £140 a day before tax not including flight pay. Thats as an f/o.
More than double as a captain

Tonka,
£2700 per month? Where in the world were you a FI ??????????????
I don't know or really care what anyone else earns, all i know is that my monthly take home is almost half of what i earned per year as an FI
Just to stop any confusion as people are after figures the average take home pay at Jet2 is around £2700 per month for an FO

Gross pay £2617.48 = salary after flight duty pay
Net pay £1932.02 = after all deductions, but not pension
This was as an FO for a major UK charter airline; not 737/757, but similar seat capacity as the 737-400, just under average salary for the job at the time, but not by much. No pension deductions, I hadn't been there long enough to join the scheme. Duty pay slighly more than a typical month, I had been line training.

Prop Brake, you definitely win 1st prize - or is that the wooden spoon? However, for any of this debate to mean anything you have to relate it to the local cost of living. Big difference between UK or USA and say Indonesia or Fiji. Maybe use the Big Mac index and come up with some formula?

Ok, so everybody seems to have an opinion about how awful the pay is at Jet2 but lets just clear up a couple of things...
Most if not all of the Jet2 figures quoted so far appear to be for the FO's on the channex type rating scheme. The deal is this: The normal FO salary after year 3 is about £43k 'ish basic ( or so we were told on day 1!!) + £2.10/ duty hour tax free + the newly introduced sector pay (which will make a negligible £30/month net difference based on 30 sectors per month). I assume the same applies if you come to Jet2 with a 737 rating.
For those who took the type rating scheme option through CTC, the basic salary is reduced to low to mid £30k which increases annually by about £1k over years 1-3. This accounts for the repayment to the FO for his or her £20k (23k if you required the advanced jet handling course) paid to CTC for type rating training. This is paid back un-taxed, on a monthly basis, to the employee over a 3 year period. We are under no illusion that although we get this training money back to us, we are in fact paying for our rating through loss of salary. I'm not going to get into the whole 'pay for a rating' thing as that's been done to death on other threads.
A mate of mine working for FR paid 30,000 euros for his type rating and doesn't get any of that back but salary is pretty good after the first 6 months so it would appear to be a case of 6 and 2 3's.
