Okay crew.... We all talk about pay.... But who's earning the least...???

I'll start
Position: A320 Captain
Average Hours per month: 85-90
Pay (before tax): $4200 USD:ugh:

Please keep it in USD so we can compare....

You have to compare like with like. If you are looking at jet jobs on a Boeing or an Airbus then you would be hard put to beat Jet2 in the UK. Rather than have me misrepresent them, would any of their pilots care to give a definitive figure?

Lowest are the hundreds of unemployed UK low hour pilots but if we are talking Jobs then Check out www.ppjn.com .

myself 757/767 F/O - last year lowest - £3561 - $6353
- last year Highest - £8202 - $14632
- last year average - £4963 - $8853

All before deductions including all flight/sector pay etc. Exchange rate 1.784

Don't forget to train for a UK licence also will cost you around £75,000 or $133,800. So a lot of loan to pay back.

Your wasting too much time on MS Flight sim!

I started flying for Jet2 3 months ago. I don't know or really care what anyone else earns, all i know is that my monthly take home is almost half of what i earned per year as an FI. I would sudgest anyone that spends too much time worrying about this subject hasn't spent much time employed outside aviation or worked as an FI etc

3 weeks ago i phoned crewing at 3.58 am as my wife had gone into premature labour. 5 minutes later they phoned me back having scrubbed all my roster for nearly 2 weeks!! Put a price on THAT after working for them for such a short time.

Sorry to rant and if this sounds like a rosed tinted advert for Jet2 then again i'm not here to advertise on their behalf, but sometimes especially when your nearest and dearest are laying on the slab their are more important things in life than your bank balance.

tonker - I am delighted about your treatment by Jet2 in your time of need. It is exactly what could reasonably be expected as, like any one of us in your situation, you would have been a flight safety hazard flying with such things going on in the background and therefore I would have been surprised by any other response from your company.

You have, however, missed the point of the issue about Jet 2. As long as there are people like yourself who are happy to work for a fraction of the going rate and consider themselves lucky to be doing so, there will always be people willing to take advantage of you. The mere fact you could compare flying as an FO for Jet2 with being an FI shows that you are new to the industry. Presumably, like the rest of us, you spent a small fortune getting to where you are and now will be spending even more to have the 'pleasure' of working for Jet2. I do not blame you for grasping the opportunity when it came. In a few years time, however, when you see the way that rock bottom companies like your current one have succeeded in destroying the airline profession you will be a whole lot less enamoured than you are now. Jet2 is carbuncle on the backside of loco aviation here in the UK and their success, if it continues, will be a tragedy for the airline industry.

I believe that the pilots who make least can't really tell because they can't afford a computer :sad: .

I can't find anyone paying less, for jet rated pilots, than Jet2 in the UK. I tried but it was impossible. I whole heartedly agree with the sentiments of NSF, & Tonker epitomises why Jet2 continue to get away with it: they exploit a pilot pool of good people who have low commercial time & therefore find it difficult to get a start anywhere else. Their negotiations for better sector pay etc. is being hammered, IMHO, because of it.

Just to play Devil's Advocate how much is the owner of Jet 2 worth these days?I used to work for him a long time ago and he was significantly richer than me(say it in a Harry Enfield voice)then ,so he must be worth at least $100m by now!

Just out of interest what are the pay rates at Jet2?

Half an FI's annual salary, net per month sounds pretty good to me. 50k/year for a new FO? (basedish on an FI salary of 8k/year :o) Is that really a fraction of the going rate as Norman SF suggests?

Just to stop any confusion as people are after figures the average take home pay at Jet2 is around £2700 per month for an FO. Please post any other figures so i can see for myself the greeness of the grass on the other side. Not figures published by companies but genuine monthly take home.

That sounds pretty good for a new jet FO.
Starting salary at First Choice is a lot lower than that! (Particularly if you don't have a full ATPL).

£2,700 per month take home pay in the UK is equivalent to £3,833 pre-tax monthly earnings (£46,000 per annum).

I find it hard to believe £46k (for comparison about US $80k) is the lowest 737 FO pay in the UK!

Jet2 f/o is 31ish grand, if memory serves me right.
£2700 is good for a summer month but then the type rating has to paid out of that so Tonker is incorrect.

more like £1800 to £2000 net a month if you are self sponsored.

Sorry but the pay is $hite along with the T&C's.

I'm sure there are poorer guys out there but here I go:

1900$ after

+cca 200$ per diems

That's for fourth year ATR F/O.

And it's major improvement, as I was paid 180$ for my first month of line trainning. Also I didn't SSTR, though sometimes I wish I was able to do so.
