British Airways DEP Selection - THE lowdown Part 1
A question that hasn't been asked yet- from what I have seen.
I was pretty much first through the door back in November last year for interviews and was unsuccessful on day 1. Next time they open the door I'm thinking of giving it another crack (partly for my own sanity ) - is there any info on whether they prefer to interview people who've not been before over those that failed exactly 12 months prior? Knowing BA I'm pretty confident the answer is no, but thought I'd ask anyway.

Hi Kempus,
Looking at your previous posts on the 23rd of June you've been in the pool since then (not stalking but just to see how far you're behind me) and you reckon your number 40 ish. I've been in around 6 weeks before you since early May, looking at where you are in the pool then I should be in the top 20 ish as I know people that got the nod in mid-late April and have course dates already. I was hoping for a Jan start date but still not heard anything, I can only assume I'll hear something in the next 2-4 weeks or so...
Fingers crossed it won't be too long but things do seem to be moving...
Good Luck everyone!!!

I called the recruitment team. Had other options open to me which would mean leaving the holdpool straight away so called to get an idea of dates and look at my options. No dates where given but just told how many people where waiting ahead of me and that courses were planned for the new year.

Gentleman
I applied few weeks ago and my application was rejected. I actually did not spend so much time on the application and I believe I made a couple of mistakes with flight times and the questons may be as well they where not so well answered... Should have looked at this thread before!
I have a few questions for you even if I know that by browsing the thread I would find the answer somewhere here...just a little lazy on this kind of stuff.
Would it be possible for me to sumbit an application again at this stage?
Are you aware of any age limitation ?
From this forum I see most of you guys are form the UK.. do you think this plays a factor ... or not?
Thanks

If your passport/right to work and language skills meet the advertised criteria then the answer to that question is 'no'.

Filed my app week after it opened and found out 6 weeks later "thanks but no thanks"
I'm ex mil with command commercial experience but only just 2000 hours. I had help with the app from 2 BA mates and still didn't get an invite to interview. Feel pretty crappy but at least I can reapply at the end of Jan!
Could it be that pure numbers of apps recieved before mine contributed to my rejection?

Ba has taken me on, and I come from one of the PIGS countries. They are a very profesional company, so if you don't get the job ask yourself whether the problem is you rather than blaming it on cultural aspects.

my application has been rejected at the first stage so there's really nothing to blame myself about
i am sorry about you mate but i will never consider my country as a pig country no matter if there's a pig managing it
I do not consider my country a pig. All I was saying is that I come from a country where from the outside we are not seen as a very profesional place, regardless of this, I still got the job just like many other Europeans.

I am very pleased for you that you have been accepted by BA.
If you would like to accept some advice and accepting that English is not your first language, stop using the expression "Proffesional".
If you look above you will readily see that the first "P" in pprune is spelled "Professional".
Anyway, I wish you a long and happy career.
