The figure we were told on joining is 'In the single digit percentages'. Whether this is measured by total applicants or those that get called for an interview is uknown. Of the 14 people on my selection day, I think 5 got through. I have also heard that some days nobody makes it through. Fact: There are many more applicants than jobs to be had.
Bottom line is work very hard and walk in with the right attitude and you are likely to succeed. Worked for all I know who made it into what is, a great job.
Good luck.

Take-off in the Fixed Base sim is just a "get airborne" procedure and of limited value in selection, so either would not be assessed or you will commence from level flight.

The tests would be very similar to those run in the BAC 1-11 sim as they seem to have served us well. In the same vein, I doubt anything below DA would be looked at............

B1-11 or B744

I also have an sim assessment mid June. I've been given the B1-11 checklist on day 1.

Does anyone know more about the changeover date ??

And what kind of questions can I expect during the 4 hrs sim (DEP) ?

Thanks in advance !

I guess it depends on the assesor of the day but expect questions like: With current V/S how long will it take you to reach FL...? What is our current GS. (No GS readout avail off course.) What will be the new hdg if, from present hdg you had to turn left/right by ..deg?
All basic calculations but when you are occupied flying the 1-11 it's a bit more tricky.
Did my sim last march so info quite recent.

good luck!

MicroPAT testing on day 2

Do you still have to do more MicroPAT testing on the 2nd assessment day (SIM) ?

bojangles,

No, there are no aptitude tests on the second day. I believe they only did that when they were introducing their new aptitude tests, to compare them.

No such luck!!! All assessment is done on the steam powered BAC1-11.

Good Luck!

Anyone know if there's going to be any more recriuting this year? I didn't make it last time and I'm 1 month short of the re-apply date, but the website says there are no openings right now...

Yes, I had heard rumours about the Bac 1-11 sim being ditched. Still can't substantiate it though ...... and I work for the company!

Got the email invitation for an assessment

Any ideas as to the fleets they are looking at?

Me 3000TT 1500 757/767 flying charter

I dont care what the sim is on, an aeroplane is an aeroplane..I'm just wondering about when I'm supposed to get this "pack" in the post with practise numerical/verbal tests (to be honest Id say thats my real weak point, the computer apt tests I dont give two hoots about...because how can you study for those ) Anyone know more?

Cheers

BA Flight Deck Interview Questions

Hi All,
A while ago i remember seeing the questions that you were asked during the BA assessment day. They were all "give examples of when...." type questions.
I can't seem to find them on here any more but it might just be my failing eyesight and creeping senility!
Can anyone point me in the right direction please (i mean for the questions, not cures for age related ailments!),
Thanks

atyourcervix73,

Should you be fortunate enough to get through the assessment and sim I can't help feeling you will go straight to the 757/767 fleet!

BA seem to have stopped putting DEPs on 777 (747 only likely if you already have type rating) and are currently sending them to 757/767 and Airbus. You have the ratings so with 'time and money' in the minds of the purse-string holders, I think you can bet on more of the same in your logbook.

Anyone with a 737 rating has a high chance of being sent to Gatwick.
