Gettig paid

Thought you would all like to know that the letters are in the post today.
The company have moved proceeding over to the goverment which means that there will be a claim form with the afore mentioned letter for you to claim all wages owed to you. We will also recieve a month in arrears pay (minus the £310 which we owe to the company as we recieved this when we started).
All this means is we will be paid upto 17/04/2004.

All info from H.R at BOH via me

Now off to Tesco's to stack some shelves..x

thanx for that info hotdowntheback very helpful. so basic wage up till the 17th is approx £400 minus the £310 we owe them so a grand total of £90!! well i expected £0 so its better than nothing. Im owed my FDP from last month so i take it i have to claim that from the government.

Getting Paid

Dont forget we can (as you said legallyblonde) claim our flight pay for whole month Feb and upto 17th March.

Do you think we can claim payment in lieu for untaken accrued holiday? I am just off to check the contract wording on that one...unless of course Hot Down the Back you can get some info out of HR on that one.

Do you think that these letters will actually get to us by tomorrow, so at least we can take them to the Benefits offices etc and have something in black and white to start actioning on.

best of luck to all

European Aviation

Good to hear somebody received their letter today. Did anyone see Stoddy on the BBC news tonight. He confirmed that there was still money in the kitty so if we don't get paid perhaps we could all send him our mortgage role numbers so that he can pay this month's mortgage.

I was in the meeting yesterday afternoon when he told us we were all made redundant. At least I think that's what he said as his ability to use a megaphone was as good as his ability to run his airline, and the 'suits' that were with him were pretty useless as well. It was nice to see the directors and managers commisserating with their staff, not. I agree with some of the previous comments the workers at European were a great bunch but the management and directors didn't have a clue. How could you keep on recruiting flight staff when the existing ones weren't flying because we didn't have any contracts. What were commercial doing all this time, questions should have been asked months ago and new people brought in who could get contracts.
And as for Stephen Woodland who identified himself as 'that fat *******', and so say all of us.

To Delsey, Legallyblonde, Hotdowntheback, Buffy... everyone at EAAC.

I'm so sorry to hear about what has happened. I chatted to some of you last year when I had my EAAC interview in BOH and I was contemplating starting at LGW.

I got the heave ho from my airline yesterday too, they haven't gone bust though so at least I know I will get my final pay cheque.

BA is still recruiting (Cabin Staff) for both LHR and especially LGW. I was supposed to start in June, but when I explained my situation to them they were awesome and have said I can start April 26th for LHR. So go online to www.britishairwaysjobs.com if you're interested in applying, they got back to me within 48 hours of my application last year, and when I finally was able to get over to the UK to interview in February, they told me I had the job by the end of that week, so it seems like the process is pretty fast and streamlined compared to the BA of yore.

Otherwise I'm sure you've heard about Air Atlanta and Excel, everyone seems to think it's going to be big family reunion at Air Atlanta.

Good luck getting your final pay and getting some $$ to hold you over until you can hit the skies again.

Unhappy

Having worked for EAAC for 9 years, I was working in JER yesterday when the axeman's blade hit me amongst 100's of others.

Just like to say thanks to all the crews and groundstaff I have had the pleasure to work with over the years all over the world (and especially those who suffered in Kazakhstan...).

Lets just hope that we can get as much of the wages, allowances and redundancy pay as we are all entitled to.

Hope to see you again...somewhere out there.

M.R.

Money !!!

My god if i get my hands on any of the W@:k*rs at EAAC management!!!!!!

If there is money in the kitty we should be paid it!!!! Not claiming from the gov..... I have had to do this before and believe me it takes ages!!! So good luck guys, as for Hol entitlement i can tell you that they do not take this into considerationand it is capped at approx 240.00GBP P/w

My advice is to sign on as soon as poss and get those payment protection plans rolling!!!! It is going to be a long slog!!!

EAAC !!!!

I am getting out of aviation !!!!

Pay Outs!!

Statatory Redundancy basically means that EAAC have wiped thier hands of paying any redundancy!!!

We have to claim from the Government, and as said in my previous post, it is capped at about 240.00 per week regardless of your rank, that was 2 yrs ago anyway. I was unable to claim hol pay or most of my allowances and in the end was approx 2 grand out of pocket!!!!

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but that was my last experience.

I'm just going on what I was told by our H.R dept today.

Flight pay up to 17/3 then basic up to 17/4. Also been told that we were lucky that we are getting anything as the 747 operation wiped the company dry (hence the goverment stepping in somehow).
I say that if they can afford to run even 2 737's then we should all get our dough.

so they are paying one months notice?!

So Hot Down the Back,

by the sounds of it they're paying us one months notice then? So in effect we should get:

Basic: whole month March
Basic: pro rata to April 17th

FDP: whole month March
FDP: accrued till 17th March

less of course the £ 310.00 they stood up front

well if it comes thru without a fight it is a bit better than I thought.

Can I keep my wings though? Any idea how ID and parking passes are being dealt with?

European Aviation

Hi Delsey Diner

As far as I know you can keep using them as nobody there to deal with their retrieval. Hows that for security then.

Witchway you need to be aware that YOU are liable for when they are used. Therefore if you were to try to use it to gain access airside when not employed by the company, you would likely find yourself in hot water with Security and possibly the police.

The company has already turned off the company mobiles of staff made redundant yesterday, so it is highly likely that the passes of staff made redundant will have been advised to BAA and blocked.

Best wishes to everyone I knew in EAAC, i hope it all works out for you. Special best wishes to the BJL regulars before and after Christmas.......now that was fun!!

European are either bust or they are not. If they are still operating routes then they are not bust and have just laid off people to make ends meet. This means that those made redundant should be entitled to everything due to them.
It is incumbent upon those of the management team that remain to ensure that those members of the workforce who have remained loyal and worked so hard, who have been sacrificed to ensure the survival of the company, are not doubly shafted.

I'd be greatful if anyone who has been through this with any other airline knows what to do next?
I'm owed £1200 this month, and i don't want to see this knocked down to 2 weeks basic minus 310 expenses!! leaving me with £90!
Fair enough the airline is having money problems ..... but we could have told them that before, they have over 500 crew sitting at home on standby 4 weeks a month!! cant be doing them any gud!! i worked for EAAC since Nov and ive flown 7 times! i worked more than that in my first month at MyTravel.
Luckily i escaped.... i rejoin MyTravel in april and currently have a full time check in job that i had to take on anyway due to lack of flying with EAL. Finished on monday.... so still due wages.
To all those who didnt escape.... hope you all find work soon.,..... galley FM rekons that Air Atlanta are holding an open day for Ex EAAC crew in LGW..... hope everyone finds work soon.
And Paul Stoddard...... if you read this.... i hope everything else u touch turns to ****!!! bleeding the airline dry to fund your race cars was gonna cost you your business in the end! (not bitter guys..... just dissapointed)

nite all xx
