Spotty - Developing a new livery with a yellow tail, and then rolling out aircraft in an interim livery just to add to the plethora of variations on a colour scheme. Yes I appreciate the argument for it taking a while to do the whole fleet, I just don't see the point, at this moment in time of the yellow tail, if only a handful of units are being done, and others are being rolled out with the white tail.

MKY - I very much doubt any passenger has had his travel plans influenced by either a yellow tail, or a misleading and highly ambiguous strap line on an aeroplane, the nuances of the different colour schemes may please the spotters, and drive people nuts whose livelihoods and pensions depend on this airline actually doing something, anything that makes any sense.

You seem to be missing what is going on with the livery changes.
The main change is what has been referred as billboard titles, meaning bigger titles plus the big Spotty M and co.uk.
The yellow tail with the other small changes will be rolled out when each a/c is due a repaint, the new titles are not painted on the other a/c, decals are used.
It will take years, for the yellow tail to be fleet wide, you can take United Airlines for example. They have finally painted the last main line a/c which still had the 1993 blue with the top grey colour scheme.

Thanks. I know that.
My question was, whats the point of the yellow tail.
By the time it is 'rolled out' (and I hate that phrase) across the fleet, some bright spark on the 2nd floor will want to change it again. Billboards is fine across the fleet if that is the way to go, and get rid of the flymonarch monarch.co.uk upper case lower case etc etc is one thing, just think the yellow tail is nugatory at this time. Especially if its going to take a dogs age to get them all done.

I guess my point is theres more important things to be doing right now, and the company isnt doing them.

Difference between UA & MON is MON only have what 21 a\c to repaint into the new livery, surely it shouldn't take that long to repaint them all?!

They only respray each a/c approximately every five years because of the massive cost involved.

The new 737-800's will be the new scheme from delivery, so in fact you will see quite a change over the next 24 months.

Not quite sure but i think G-OZBG is in the new decals now. It wasnt doing anything for the past five days so i assume it was getting them applied in the hangar.

Also Is G-MPCD still getting the decals as it is going at the end of the summer?

BG is done.

Going to be very busy now with aircraft decals at Manchester. An A321 in this week plus a trip to Luton to do the install on another A321. From memory I recall there being an A300 followed by an A330 on one line, with A321's and a A320 on the other. Something like 8 aircraft between now & the end of April.

No one knows at the moment, l know when the airline would like one of them to be available, but that date looks unlikely at the moment.
Neither a/c l believe have been officially handed back by TOM, to the leasing companies involved.
One thing l do know for sure is they have not yet been signed over to Monarch.
Both a/c have some work to be undertaken on them, this to bring them in line with a Monarch configuration.
