All the liveries with the spotty purple 'M' look particularly bad should have kept the yellow splash on the 'M' on the tail. Makes you wonder how companies can waste money like this when peoples livelyhood rely on this company for jobs.

Be another jobsworth no doubt that doodled it on a piece of paper and thought oohh that looks good....NOT!

Sorry not been any where near Luton, must have been like it when it finally left MAN, maybe the rudder was in neutral when you painted it, or the picture is with a little rudder input.

It's either a trick of the light or some work has been carried out after painting. We only paint the diamond as these are yellow, the rudder is at full defection when painted. The circle on the rudder section has also been cutoff with a white section through it.. Not the end of the world but a bit annoying.

I flew from MAN and there were a couple of Monarch's with their tail a bit messy with the decal. Think BB was one of them. Wonder why you paint them at MAN but not at LTN? Personally I think they should be painted at both
Also saw BL with its different rudder when I flew back. Hopefully that will be fixed soon as well.

The contract to re-brand the Monarch fleet was awarded to two different companies, the one I work for at Manchester & another at Luton.
Painting for us was the only option as the tail is a high maintenance area.

Not many to go now. Think there is still 5 left to do and then we wait for repaints.

Sorry if I have missed something here, but is there a reason why the yellow tails are not being added to all the latest re-paints? Is it just an interim livery? Also, when can we expect to see the 1st A321 in full yellow tail livery?
I think the yellow tail livery looks great, especially in the early morning sunshine. The 'billboard' spotty M is growing on me too....

The aircraft only get the yellow tails if they are painted. The billboard titles are only decals and are put onto the plane when they are in maintenence.
It would be nice to see an A321 with the yellow tail. I found a 757 in the new colours with yellow tail on avsim the other day (if you want me to show it I will do). Hopefully we will see all the aircraft types with the yellow tail but I dont think so as all the A300 & 757's will be gone by the end of 2014.

Right, so decals and full respray is done differently. Thanks!!
Would be great to see all the a/c done - but as you say, the cost is high for an a/c with a retirement just 2 years away. Who knows, a tribute to the B757 would be good! Lets hope the A330's see the full livery too!

Here you go. You might need to log in to Avsim to see it. I would send them by pic but its too big and I dont know how to shrink them.
