Airasia Owes Over Rm100mil To Klia
AirAsia owes MAHB RM100mil
KUALA LUMPUR: Low-cost carrier AirAsia owes Malaysia Airport Holdings Berhad (MAHB) more than RM100mil for its use of airports in the country, said Transport Minister Datuk Ong Tee Keat.
He said AirAsia owed MAHB RM110.36mil since 2002 until March 31.
The minister who was replying to matters raised during winding up the debate on the motion of thanks on the royal address, said AirAsia felt that the rates were "too high" and had appealed for the amount to be reduced.
“AirAsia did not agree with the outstanding balance and had asked for a lower rate, so the matter has been forwarded to the Finance Ministry," he told Wee Choo Keong (PKR – Wangsa Maju).
He said the debts included RM5.4mil that the low cost carrier owed when it was operating the Rural Air Services (RAS) in Sabah and Sarawak.
Ong also clarified that the Government had never marginalized said Malaysia Airlines.
COULD THIS MEAN THAT TF AND HIS RED BUS COMPANY IS ON THE SLIDE??

As Wooblah said, seat back relax and watch the fireworks, more to come...what about the deferred tax. At the end of the day the government would be forced to confiscate the company and go after the personal wealth of those conman..

TF appears to be a slick operator and publicity hound; his MO reads something like this: I pay you One dollar now, and another dollar . . . catch me when you can.
He weaseled his way out of the Sabah/Sarawak essential air service contract and left MAS holding the bag with ragged out and run out F50s and Otters. Ditto with paying airport usage fees. He thinks that the Malaysian taxpayers owe him special favors for giving them shiny new airplanes with black leather seats and extra low fares, and he in return wants endless financial concessions from the government.
Wait a few years and see how TF will be dragging his ass when he's having to fork over tons of cash to pay for overhauls on his now still factory new A320s.

Seems the fat one estimated his overflights, landing and parking charges totalled Rm 5 million (Just a tad out) Additionally I believe he is still collecting pax service charges. So, the bill is just getting bigger.
So lets have a little look at the approximate amount he owes.
MAB charges 100m
fuel speculation 300m
Lost tourist
dollars Sabah
Sarawak 800m
DHC-6 F-50
repair bill 70m
TOTAL 1.27 Billion Rm
Additionally O' Leary of Ryan Air has stated that if fuel exceeds 135/Barrel his airline would be facing losses this year. The fat one has no hedge at the moment and must be really feeling the pressure. In fact I am certain he is sliding into the red at a great rate of knots.
The increasing costs would definitely cause people to fly less this is exacerbated by increased inflation and the sharp increase in the price of food and gasoline. MAS is taking away a large slice of passengers because MAS's dispatch reliability and connectability is outstanding when compared to air asia. Air asia's response is to further reduce fares to increase seat factor but the bulk of their IPO cash is tied up into the A320 purchases. So the war chest is down to reserves. Additionally I would assume that the fat one decided to bridge his loans in so financing his aircraft acquisitions. This is what a greedy misinformed person in for a quick buck would do. The formula is simple. Estimate the growth in seat factor and required aircraft to fulfil the guesstimated schedule and deduce the lease cost if the additional aircraft were leased which is more expensive than the new aircraft acquisition financing cost broken down monthly. Now borrow the required cash for the purchase against the monthly guesstimated lease cost. I wager this is why air asias debt to equity ratio and gearing is so high. So a further slide into the red. Additionally the overseas investors must be leaving in droves with the current share price and the no dividend policy.
In short. Investors have lost a fortune in investing in air asia. If similar amounts were invested in the property market in Dubai or in BHP or Rio Tinto in the same period the profit margins would have been astronomical.
So FATTY, how does it feel now.

no way to AK as MH is OK!
There are some quarters that say Fatty is trying to emulate SRB, as we all know VS has not been performing, while SRB is prancing around making bio fuel out of coconuts (half naked of course...).
The red fleet of "snap together Ikea types" is indeed going to incur some pretty heavy maintenance as Y3 approaches.
flightleader ~ X should be aXed, you certainly won't catch me going long-haul in a bigger red bus, its most unpleasant.
"MAS's dispatch reliability and connectability is outstanding when compared to air asia. "
I could not agree with Captain Wooblah more; AK operates on a very short thread (on raffia and shopping bags as commonly used by the Fatty types). I was on a horribly delayed flight to VTSP when we were denied landing and were sent back. Such incidences only happen when dues are not paid.

cut backs
As angel said in previous statement, about cuts backs.. and pilots losing jobs...
how about AA cut back on capt pay (flt allow= 195rm a hr..$60usd a hr). and stops sponsoring football clubs, F1 racing (a couple of millions a year each) on manchester united and williams racing (TF football club is Arsenal), they want us to be professional and look professional..it hard if you are flying a billboard around at 40000ft
This is one for the few email that was sent to pilots
Dear All,
As you can see from the attached email, the high price of oil is affecting
everybody, even those from the oil rich kingdoms.
Our fuel bill for 2007 was 816 million ringgit and our projected fuel bill
for 2008 is 1.1 billion ringgit.
Our target is to cut that fuel bill by 2%, which would equate to a savings
of 20 million ringgit or so, for the financial year 2008.
For that to happen we will need all of us to come together during this very
difficult period, to work together towards meeting our target.
We have come up with some measures to help us achieve the target and while it is being finalized, it is hoped that all of us will try our level best to
operate as efficiently as we can, with the aim of saving as much fuel as we
can, without compromising on safety, at anytime.
For starters, those who have been over uplifting fuel from the line stations
and arriving back in KUL with more than 4 tons in your tanks, should realise
that you are burning fuel to carry that extra fuel in your tanks, plus in
most of the line stations, fuel is more expensive there.
On tankering sectors, some are carrying very much more than what is required
for the round trip. Should we on arrival, drop below the required fuel for
the return leg, there is always the option of us topping up at the line
station, for the trip back to kul.
They've also been a couple of us who've shown their total lack of
professionalism, by flying at M0.8 when there was no necessity to. A lot of
you will be shocked at this, but yes, it has happened. For the culprits, you
are easily identified and the management will be in touch. You are not only
wasting fuel, but you are also undermining all the efforts of us,
professionals, who are trying to save as much fuel as possible.
Starting of the APU, especially in KUL, where we have a 6 to 8 minute taxi,
depending on where you're going to be parked, should also be delayed,
instead of right after turning off the rwy.
Every little bit counts. If we can save even 20kg per flight, with our fleet
of 38 aircrafts in Malaysia and the number of flights that we have daily,
imagine the savings we would achieve in a year.
Last but not least, please be careful with the landings. This is no blame
game and it could happen to any of us, if we're not careful, but the last
hard landing has cost the company a very painful 2 million US, plus the loss
of revenue from the a/c being out of service for a long period of time.
Should anyone have any suggestions on fuel saving measures, please feel free
to drop Capt C or Capt C M who sit on this fuel savings
committee that we've just formed, or me an email.
Thanking all, in advance for your contributions towards meeting our target.

What will be the best speed?
Just curious...if M.8 is burning fuel and a hole in AA's pocket,
what then is the fuel saving speed for A320? m.78/79??
At least we are prepared when allocating levels.
How much can u guys save(in terms of USD) when ATC shortens
your track by 1min.

Hi Mr Veloo...
Well, dont know about the A320, but 737 burns around 2400kg/hr & A330 5600kg/hr. That's about 40kg/90kg of fuel saving perminute. During descent thrust is at idle, there're some saving..but practically there're more saving when track shortening given to departing traffics. and..at current fuel price, every little count..Multiply that with 100s of dep/arr and widebody a/c with much higher burn off..and there are saving in a/c time(maintenance) too....cheers

yes..fuel saving figures looks impressive on the paper.. but wats the point when the new cpts drop the gear at 10 miles doin 140kts... waiting for marshallers on the ground ...number 5 for departure in the morning single rwy ops..APU running hours after nite stop.... often wonder.. one never hears MAS asking for 10 miles finals.. high speed climb... despite wat is being said about Mas... aa drivers still cant share the same standard..even after all the copying they tried to do over the years..

yep...the "FAT BANGLA" is at it once again, air asia has no money and the accounts need to be audited by some one not in his pocket.one only has to look at the share price....i remember when we got our esos...the fatty said in five years you guys will be rich....guess what the five yrs has come and gone and the staff are still slogging like dogs but the fatty and his sidekicks are rich...building big houses and using the ferry flts frm france to bring in **** loads off goods.
when will the truth come out ? when will the staff make a stand and show the mgt that we have had enough.

1/ that email looked to be either fake or written by a 15 y.o.
2/ what did you guys expect when you joined AA? come on really did you expect better?
3/ don't you have a fuel policy? you know, a policy that talks about tankering and how much to carry.
4/How can they critcise your Captains for arriving with 4 tonnes? maybe the weather was bad and dictated holding fuel or an Alternate be carried.............nah........the wx never gets bad in KL hey, never seen a Ts there before s
Just a all round dumb email.
