DEC on Airbus base EU?
folks,
does anyone have any info on the positions as Airbus captains base Europe that they advertised? Is this really happening?
Are they still looking for Airbus Captains, or have they got their quota?
Any light on the matter would help greatly!
Many thanks and happy landings!

Yes,homebase EU( Vienna),positioning to LHR,stay 1 night in hotel, next day on duty A340/330 to India and so on...last leg to LHR, then positioning to EU homebase.
For the Time they concentrate on B777, but they start recruitment again for A330 later this year.

x-feed1,
Many thanks for your reply.
Can you tell me how many days / month you manage to be in EU, Vienna in your case?
Can you give me some more feedback? Are there any problems with this kind of contract? Any hidden catches?
Thanks for any more info here or as PM.
Cheers

Jetairways
The broker for Jetairways is Aeropersonnel. www. Aeropersonnel.com. They are in Montreal, Canada. If you are NG qualified (700/800/900) with 500 PIC in type consider Spicejet in India as well. They are a great place to be as well. Plus points for Spice:
1. Smaller outfit--personal touch--Great staff
2. Pay is about the same as Jet
3. Delhi base.
4. Monthly schedule in advance. Don't fly 6/1 normally.
5. 10 weeks on/3 weeks off--Can be adjusted to suit your needs.
6. Chief Pilot Jack Ekl: Former CP/Director of Ops Southwest Airlines. Also former USN Blue Angel. Very personable. Jatti Dhillon is VP Flight Ops. Former Indian Navy Pilot, Former CP Jet AirAirways and formerly Training/Standards Manager for Oman Air. Great guy as well.
7. Apply directly to [email protected] or [email protected].

5 top managers of Jet Airways quit
Wednesday April 4, 06:23 PM
New Delhi: Five senior executives of private carrier Jet Airways quit the airline on Wednesday.
Jet's Vice President (South East Asia) V Raju, Head of Training Michal Tan, Vice President (Communications) Nandini Verma, Senior General Manager Vijay Sethi and Head of training Ravindran were among those who put in their papers, sources said.
They are citing poor management practices, lack of authority to take decisions and centralisation of power in London as the reasons for their resignations. There was trouble in the ranks of Jet Airways ahead of the battle with Air Sahara.
The resignations come as a severe blow to the airline and the operations are likely to suffer. In fact, the markets are also expected to be adversely affected by the move.
Sources say that a number of other employees are likely to resign.
The Jet-Sahara tussle
In January 2006, Jet Airways signed an agreement to acquire 100 per cent equity stake in Air Sahara.
As part of the deal, Jet paid Rs 180 crore for the revival of Air Sahara and Rs 500 crore for Air Sahara shares, besides depositing Rs 1,500 crore in the escrow account opened for the purpose.
After the deal fell through – following Jet's failure to get regulatory clearances by the deadline of June 21 – Sahara moved a court in Lucknow seeking to bar Jet from operating the escrow account.

yes GB777...just saw the same.. all over the indian news as well. Wonder if this is going to lead to a recruitment freeze??? hopefully not!!! They seem to have a good main structure and i dont think it will fall apart that easily. They still have the planes and still need the pilots. But I suppose this is the aviation industry and there are no guarantees for anything.
anyone got any thoughts on this?!?

Hi everybody,
I'm a new ppruner. I passed the randhem selection a month ago. I begin my TR at Miami on May 7th. Is there someone on this forum who will be at Miami during the same period?
Has anybody finished the Miami course or has done the line training in Europe. Where are the first student of this randhem program: already flying in Mumbai.
I'd be glad to have news from randhem pilots.
Thanks

Hi, I received my reply from randhem a week after sending application. Two weeks after, I was in Sweden for the selection. It was a standard airline interview, about who I am, my motivations. I beleive they want to be sure that you are the kind of person who will be able to live in India.
Then I had 10 atpl questions not that hard. And then they asked me what would I do in case of fire inboard...
But no sim check.
Two days after they told me it was ok.
I have a little more than 1000 hours.
Could someone comfirm the 6on, 7off roster? Even if they told me that during the interview and if it was written on their website, they don't mention it anymore on their website. They also don't say anymore that the contract is renewable.

Taxes for Expat Pilots
Hi!
Does anybody know if Expat Pilots screened from Randhem Aviation will have to pay the full indian taxes monthly or is this not applicable?
I'm have passed the screening in February 2007 and will start my B737 T/R on 4th July. Currently I'm flying on Dash 8 for an European Regional Airline and have 1400 hrs TT.
Please keep me informed about the Indian tax situation.
Cheers,
Philipp

You will not be paying any tax in India. The company will be. Your salary is the gross amount in your contract, which after Indian taxes, reduces to the nett you have promised.
