Jet

So I hear that the infamous and highly unpopular Werner Borchert has been fired from JetAirways. Does anyone have the dirt as to what led to his much awaited departure? Many have not considered JetAirways because of him. I guess life will now improve at Jet?

Blade inc : Thank you for correcting me and you are 100% right, the requirement is 300 hrs and a check for f/o's t/off & ldgs .

C500 : the money you get here is after tax, Jet is paying taxes in India on your behalf . This has to be stated on your contract .
Regarding your licence renew, unless approved by your licensing authority, you have to do it back home at your own expenses and your own time off .

WB fired ? I guess i'm too far from SM centre !!!!!!

Mud skipper,

10 330's and 10 777's are coming, 340 will go . The rumor is that European routes and bases will become 777 ones .

Licence renew

Regarding that licence renewal issue, as far as I know, the operator ( in this case JET) should carry out OPC-s and Line checks on their own expenses according their Indian AOC.
The copy of the report of these checks can be used toward the renewal at the issuing authorities at home.

B777

No need to PMs, boys. We are fighters on the same league!
A friend of mine was offered a contract, 777 DEC, and it does not mention a word about basing, days off policy etc.
Maybe this was written on WBs days...

Anymore on the same?

Night Life

If girls in your part of the world like you then you should have no problem with girls in India. They are some very pretty ones there, especially the hosties who are usually between 18-25, unmarried and educated. Nightlife is like any big city. Lots of disco's etc.

For the folks already on a European bas (A340?) - Are you also flying the 6 on, 1 off rosters? If not, what are the rosters like? In advance, thanks.

Jet

Jimmy..Jimmy...Jimmy......... What can I say, just come on down and try your luck! Here are some positives--With a population of over 1 Billion, there is bound to be someone of the female persuation that likes you! Unless ofcourse you want to play for the other team!!! In all seriousness, there are plenty of very attractive girls who are interested in being with expats. You just have to find the right one. Try not to "date" where you work or as they say steal from the company cookie jar. If it does not work out, all your details will be in the ladies room and your name will be mud. You know the saying... a woman scorned

Jet

Social Life in India is great.. if you have money in India you can live well. Now if you work 6/1 I doubt that you will have the energy to do anything on your day off!!

On another note, anyone at JetAirways---Is the two weeks off you get paid or unpaid? I think Spicejet offers 3 weeks off? Anyone know? It can make a difference b/c if you think you are being paid $8700/month, you really are not b/c the weeks off add up. You are probably only being paid for 40 weeks out of 52.

Darkjet, I think you may be wrong about the tax bit. What they advertise on Randhem ($4400) for F/O's is before tax. Deduct 33% to that . Then again I may be wrong. Do you have your info from a good source ?

Jet

Is there a DGCA requirement to have 3 months left on your PC when you join an Indian Airline?

-Magist: Jet is doing all the company training ie;ground school, line training, route check etc.... But you are responsible to maintain your licence, IFR and medical current .

-NG Fellow : you are getting paid even in your 2 or 3 weeks off every 2 month .

-Santos : I am not familiar with the Randhem scheme, the infos I gave on the tax are for expat Cpt's : 8700 $ after tax .

I am going for an interview at Randhem. I would be very happy if I got the job.
3 years of 737 flying in india will be an adventure I never will forget.

Question

Does anyone really understand the situation regarding airline flying in India on a US/FAA license? It seems some are doing it, but the obstacles are daunting. Any help?

FAA licenses in India

If hired as an expat you fly on your US credentials. The airline takes care of the rest-ie. you take a few exams and thats it.
