Thumbs up

If you guys are unhappy with SIA Cargo, why not have a look at KAL.
They are now the biggest international cargo operator and they run a pretty good op. on the freighter.
I was there for 5 years and I really enjoyed their freight opn.
Pax op. was a lot harder though.

Your Honour. Not so easy for those SIACargo "rats" as they are all mostly heavily bonded for 5 years from final line check with SQ holding a Bank Guarantee. ie Prisoners with no early release for good behaviour

I have been very (and i mean VERY) reliably informed that of the recent SQC applicants to KAL, the failure rate is very high in the sim. Doesn't sound as if KAL is too impressed.

A Smilarity To Sq Cargo Lads

On walking into the factory, the MD noticed a young
guy leaning against the wall, doing nothing.

He approached the young man and calmly said to him,
How much do you earn?"

The young man was quite amazed that he was asked such a
personal question, he replied, none the less,
"I earn $ 2,000.00 a month, Sir. Why?"

Without answering, the MD took out his wallet and
removed $ 6000.00 cash And gave it to the young man and said,
"Around hear I pay people for working,
not for standing around looking pretty! Here is 3
months' salary, now GET OUT and don't come back".

The young man turned around and was quickly out of sight.

Noticing a Few onlookers, the MD said in a very upset manner,
"And that applies for everybody in this company".

He approached one of the onlookers and asked him,
"Who's the young man that I just fired?

" To which an amazing reply came of,

"He was the pizza delivery man, Sir...!!!"

Does UR Management know U ??

A little harsh I think CJ. There are a lot more line pilots than there are managers. Have you ever made the effort to report half an hour early for a flight so that you can pop into the office to say hello? It takes two to tango.

I do think that there is a tendency for difficult questions asked by line guys to be put at the bottom of the intray by management and that is very disappointing. But it's also something that I have experienced throughout SE Asia for the last 12 years and I guess it's not about to change anytime soon.

Just remember: Any idiot can manage downwards. The art is in managing upwards!

Sq Cargo Aoc

hey lads,

i do not mind flying AOC time. i just want to fly to keep the meter ticking. a 70 per month would be great. also the income would be in rationale to that was expected as in the advertisment.

certainly better than sitting on me hands twidling my thumbs and the meter not moving.

over to you bright sparks.............

freighter new cop/roster

though we may get 70hrs and 70hrs work-out to be S$2520 (for f/o) but

that is provided we do a sin-kix-sin turnaround flt time 12:20/duty time

15:50, sin-nrt-lax-bru-ams-sin flt time 23:05/duty time 48:10, sin-mfm-

anc-dfw-bru-bom-sin flt time 37:05/duty time 52:10.

summed up total flt time for the month = 72:30

total duty time for the month =116:10

total paxing time for the month = 24:40

at times have to stay in the aircraft for 18:05hrs for paxing the sin-nrt-lax

sectors and stay in the freighter for 16:00hrs for flying the bru-bom

sector followed by continue paxing on the same freighter aircraft to sin.

personally, i find it tiring flying/paxing in the same aircraft for 16-18hrs.

what you guys think of the new cop/roster? any input from you

gentlement? also can't we shorten the 3days layover in bru! (as most

of us don't fancy alongside the railway station!)

cheers!

I haven't checked out the new COP's yet but if your numbers are correct the issue will not be one of money but of health.

I am happy to give it a go but if at any time I feel ill/fatigued then I report sick - simple as that.

Give the guys on STG a chance would be my advice. I am sure that there are a few tiring COP's to be shared out amongst us, but I would be very surprised to see them all feature in one months flying.

Which railway station are you "alongside?" Gare du Nord?

BB, The last two times I was in the office, I stood less than two meters away from RL, greeted the t--t and he couldn't be bothered to even grunt in return. I addressed him as Captain and was in uniform to boot! A real "people person". OKla, I'd rather tango with my mother-in-law.

Sq Cargo 2to Tango

well said portquatercv67,

at least we are setting this thread the real picture. RL is a c---sucker. avoid him this is the best. ME/IC are better people may not deliver but surely will lend you an ear. which is important.

well as i said wait till july..............

Steady on chaps. ME/IC are the "management" that I was referring to as it is they who I deal with on a daily basis.

I have sat in each of their offices when they have obviously been very busy, but each made me feel welcome and valued. Further, they were prepared to make time to try to deal with the various issues I was raising.

SIA cargo undoubtedly has some serious issues to resolve and I have been as critical as anyone over some of these issues, but (tempting though it can be) lets try to hold on to the moral high ground and refrain from personal insults on a public forum.

Order in the courtroom!

Hmmm...

I'm curious about a smallish matter, CJ.

Have you considered telling our Chief Pilot what you have written about him?

You could write to him, and sign the letter, or you could even make an appointment to see him in person.

I have certainly considered whether I should tell the Moderator of your post, and came to the inescapable conclusion to do just that.

Many of us look forward to their response, which may in time reflect the best traditions, albeit short-lived, of the PPRuNe.

I'm unwilling to contribute further to this thread unless you retract your statement, apologise and delete the offensive post.

Not a threat by the way, but it is a promise - and an opinion .

Have a nice day old chum.

You Tell Me...............

hi 4PW,

if i put pen to paper i would be out of the door packing me bags. correct thats right these guys are not open to critisism thats the system.

they have a high handedness because by george they are good at what they do the make tomns of profit, but man management is zero. as long as there is a line to join they will keep this attitude.

the moment the supply runs dry things will change. RL is the head of the cargo lads he should at least show his concerns he does not have to change for the sake of it but some ideas and suggestions could do all a favor.

ME was put into this place just to keep the lads happy as the entire network was filled with mainline rats.RL had objected but was overuled as the top saw the unsettled atmosphere in SQ CARGO.

a manager is for everybody and just a little concerns a touch of human presence can work miracles. but then again we are talking about robots aren't we?????????
