We were told there are 110 pilots in our batch i.e. TFO2011. No timeline has been provided for joining of other batches. All they said is that they want to send one batch every month but then it depends whether they get Sim slots or not.

nickdude163 27th Mar 2014 05:31

Base Training ?

@ P51- You said about base training. Can you provide details about what exactly is base training ?

Thanks

Mentat 27th Mar 2014 14:53

@P51Mustang

Hey Mustang, thanks for all the updates. Any idea about the size of a batch..?

P51-Mustang 27th Mar 2014 19:37

Base check involves flying the actual aircraft with a minimum of 6 T/Os & Landings.

A batch consists of 24 pilots. But since they couldn't get enough sim slots they couldn't manage to send the entire batch together. So a part of the 1st batch is leaving in April and a part is leaving in May.

mach5 28th Mar 2014 04:37

@ P51 Mustang

Just wanted to know when does this base check takes place ? After Supi flying and before LOFT or at some other point of time.

I am given to understand tht they will start paying once we complete the base check , Just curious to know so that I can plan my finance accordingly and how much the stipend and salary will be.

sagoobadi 28th Mar 2014 06:34

@mustang51
CPL expiring 4th Nov'14. Must have 6 months validity on date of commencement of training. That means if my training does not start before 5th May 2014, will I be disqualified as DGCA will renew the CPL only 1 month in advance i.e Oct 2014. What to be done ?? and when is next batch likely to commence their training.

P51-Mustang 28th Mar 2014 17:34

mach5

Yes, these checks take place between Suppys and Loft.

sagoobadi

I was in the same situation, my license was to expire in May and our orientation was on 20th March. Got the necessary flights done, went to the DGCA office and requested them to consider my case even though there were more than 2 months to go for my license to lapse. Since it was genuine case they accepted my license, got it back in a weeks' time.
JA will not disqualify you, they will just put you either give you time to sort it out, put you in another batch or delay your training.
At this point there is nothing to be done since you don't have any communication from JA. Once you receive your Offer of Training, take a call at that time. Don't worry about this since there are plenty in the same situation. This is basically because the entire process took more than 3 years.

sagoobadi 1st Apr 2014 08:21

Many thanks Mustang for all the info. Just waiting for Jet to call the next batch, and hoping to be in the next batch ! How's ur training going on ??

juliet.alpha.yankee 2nd Apr 2014 09:10

Hello Friends,

The interviews are underway and I believe that last one is on 4th April. Jet gave most of the ipt results yesterday (1 April). Any idea when they will start calling for medical and how long do we need to plan our stay in Mumbai for that?

Also, as there are around 100 candidates prior to 2013 batch who are to be inducted, when can the candidates from 2013 batch expect their joining to come.

Thanks

RNP2 5th Apr 2014 12:04

@p51 mustang

I am also in a similar situation as my license expires this october.
Could you please tell me as to what all you had to do to renew your license and also does jet want a current ir?

Thanks in advance.

P51-Mustang 6th Apr 2014 08:20

sagoobadi:
There are 8 of us from the first batch of 24 who haven't received any information for our training. So waiting for that now.

RNP2:

To renew your license, you need to do a FAM flight, GFT day & GFT night. I got mine done in a day. These tests can be done within 6 months of expiry of your license. I don't think DGCA will renew your license prior to 2-3 months of the expiry date, but you can always visit the office and ask them whether it will be possible to get it renewed prior to that. Whoever needed the renewal done earlier than that was asked to submit the email from JA.

Current IR is not required. But you can always do it if you like.

virus90 7th Apr 2014 06:20

@ Mustang :
Bro.. i am a part of the second batch which JA is going to send for the training and i just needed some kind of info on when we will be sent for the training??
I received an email in march to fill up the JA personal information form , but since then nothing..
so was just checking if you have heard about anything or in that case has anyone heard about anything..

Skyblade 7th Apr 2014 08:32

@virus90
Of what I have heard, 8 are going in april and other 8 are going in may

juliet.alpha.yankee 8th Apr 2014 03:38

Skyblade...I have heard that 8 were to go for training on April 7th and another 8 on April 21st...

Anyone from the lucky 16 who can validate this???

P51-Mustang 8th Apr 2014 05:28

virus90:

Absolutely no idea how long they will take to start your batch. I believe they sent you the JA form in advance to check who all are up-to-date with their licenses et all.

Skyblade & juliet.alpha.yankee:

8 went on 5th April and the next 8 are leaving around 10th of May. The remaining 8 (including me) don't have any information yet.

juliet.alpha.yankee 8th Apr 2014 11:12

P51-Mustang, Dont you think that the process is going sluggish. If 8 people are being sent in a month or 1.5 months, then, with this rate 120 people from previous batch would take around 15 months to absorb.

Needless to mention that there would be another 100-120 successful candidates from the July 2013 TFO recruitment by this month end. :ugh:

Are their any hopes that the pace might improve???

RNP2 8th Apr 2014 14:17

Thanks a lot mustang

@virus90
Any idea how many of you ll from the second batch have received the JA forms?

P51-Mustang 9th Apr 2014 05:11

juliet.alpha.yankee:

Ya man, it's been extremely slow. When I hear about the TFO 2010 process, I wonder how can it be so different.

Can't say whether it will improve or not because the process has not been perspicuous. But the positive is that they are looking at beginning our training as soon as they find training slots.

juliet.alpha.yankee 9th Apr 2014 05:57

P51-Mustang

Hmmmm... I am from the July 13 batch. Only ray of hope that I see is, if they can manage to tie up with 2 more TRTOs. Then the training could go simultaneous.

What is the name of TRTO where they are sending people right now in London?

juliet.alpha.yankee 15th Apr 2014 04:14

Just came to know that bridge course for next batch of 8 people has started at Jet Airways in Mumbai. They will be familiarized with the basics of B737, related FCOMs etc so that they catch up with their training in TRTO. Also, Jet is trying to tie up with a TRTO in Dubai for initial training of pilots.

P51-Mustang 15th Apr 2014 13:11

The bridge course started last Monday. It is I believe 3 weeks long.

In UK Jet has tied up with CTC Southampton

sagoobadi 16th Apr 2014 12:33

Is the next batch of 8 guys over and above the 1st batch of 24 or is the balance 8 + (16 sent for training). Any idea when the next lot is likely to get their call ?? What is the basis of making these batches ? Is it on merit or a lucky dip !!

P51-Mustang 16th Apr 2014 16:08

This group of 8 going in June is a part of the initial 24 (16+8).

We actually did ask the training department whether the next batches should expect any moment, the response was nothing anytime soon. Probably after August-September.

juliet.alpha.yankee 17th Apr 2014 10:05

:ugh::ugh:

I think that is going to be a long long wait.

P-51 Mustang, on what basis are they calling the candidates? How do they decide who would be called first and who would be called last?

RamFly737 21st Apr 2014 07:31

@P-51 Mustang

I'm from 2013 batch and like many others, waiting for the medicals.
Can you please tell us something about the 9W medicals, as to where it is done,what all they check and when do they declare the test result?

Planning to go for a mock test. Appreciate your help.

Balanced diet and 30 mins of Jogging / Swimming / Weights / Cardio Recommended.

Mentat 21st Apr 2014 10:06

Lots of negative news about Jet airways in the media lately. I hope it will not affect the 2013 TFO recruitment. Can anybody shed some light, how long would one have to wait before being sent for training/ground classes?

Reverb_SR71 26th Apr 2014 17:01

Hey guys any word from Jet ? any idea when the Medicals will take place ? (2013 batch)

Thanks

Three.Green 2nd May 2014 04:17

anyone here taking the re-GD happening right now?

Mentat 7th May 2014 17:01

Heard from 'sources' :p that there will be no movement regarding the 2013 TFOs for at least the next six months. :sad:

Mentat 8th May 2014 09:59

Unfortunately that is not the case. It is in fact FCFS.

mach5 8th May 2014 13:35

Mentat is totally rite , even I came to know about the same thing its FCFS and anyways people from 2011 have been waiting for a very long time.

Interview Questions

Dear friends, Please post about your Interview experience. What are the question asked during interview . Please elaborate, Thanks a lot.:confused:

juliet.alpha.yankee 15th May 2014 04:23

Maverick10...When is your interview bro?? Are you from the Re-GD batch that had their GD on April 27th or later?

Maverick10 15th May 2014 10:22

juliet.alpha.yankee Yes im frm Re GD Batch and awaiting results. i guess interview will be happening soon. just wanted to knw what kind of questions they are asking for 2013 batch :8

Three.Green 16th May 2014 03:05

RE-GD

anyone know when was the last GD held in may? Results are to be declared 1 week after the last GD.

mach5 16th May 2014 16:19

Just got news that another 24 candidates from 2011 batch have got mail about initial induction. :D

Could any one confirm this ?

sagoobadi 19th May 2014 09:04

mach 5
Since nobody has confirmed so far it seems to be a rumour !

juliet.alpha.yankee 19th May 2014 09:19

Maverick10:

Expect some heavy grilling on Jeppesen approach chart, SID, STARS, airport charts and enroute charts. This is 100% sure that they will cover length and breadth of it.

Study ACE The Technical Pilot in and out. I bet you will not fail the interview. You may take around a month's time to finish the book. But trust me by the 30th day you will be very confident with every question that they could possibly ask.

For HR part, prepare a 45sec introduction and a few followup questions like "why do you want to join Jet airways?", "Who all are there in your family?" etc.

All the best.

sagoobadi 19th May 2014 09:27

mach 5
Sorry I stand corrected. 8 guys have got the call for induction/TRTO
