@cyrilroy21

In 2010, candidates who didn't clear interview/IPT were called for reassessment. In 2011, candidates who had not cleared the GD in 2010 were called directly for the GD. So basically everyone got a 2nd chance from 2010 batch.

So atleast candidates from 2010 batch won't be getting a 2nd chance. Can't say about the candidates from 2011 batch who never got another opportunity.

Three.Green 4th Jul 2013 07:56

Just use Option "C" :ugh:

ice_veins 6th Jul 2013 12:01

Well done

:D Congrats to all those who have made it this far.

For the IPT just practice this-
1 Intercepting radials
2 Tracking TO and FROM the VOR
3 Holds and type of entries
4 Be familiar with the approaches of airports like Delhi, Bombay etc
5 Departures using VOR and NDBs

FS 2004 and FSX are very helpful

aadityaslg 6th Jul 2013 15:39

Hi,
By "departures using VOR and NDB" do you mean SID's?
Or just intercepting a radial when asked to.

Thanks.

ice_veins 7th Jul 2013 02:21

SID

I meant that you may have to fly the whole departure by means of intercepting and tracking radials. So be aware after take off as to what your intercept heading will be and after what altitude you have to initiate the turn and what should be on your course selector

IR and RTR

Cleared interview. However RTR and IR not current. Taking next attempt at RTR at Kolkata on 19 Aug and IR therafter. Any risks if joining Jet comes before that or joining would take couple of months by when I would have cleared both ??

aadityaslg 7th Jul 2013 06:14

Ok, Thanks.

RNP2 7th Jul 2013 12:41

Does anyone have any idea as to when the IPT s are going to be conducted?

cyrilroy21 21st Oct 2013 11:17

Candidates have started getting calls for the IPT

Dates ranging from 8th Nov to 28th Nov

Three.Green 21st Oct 2013 18:22

whats IPT?

virus90 22nd Oct 2013 04:01

Instrument Proficiency Test...

@cyril : Apparently the candidates who had given their interview after the 21st of june have not received their emails for the IPT, my friend told me that they have divided the candidates into batches... Jet can co ordinate better that way, which i think is really stupid...the IPT for them will be conducted in the month of december..

turbohawk 22nd Oct 2013 13:39

Written Exam results

Guys, please check your mails. Congrats to all those who have moved to the next stage!

9FLYJET9 7th Nov 2013 12:11

any news on GD dates?

P51-Mustang 12th Nov 2013 05:49

Jet IPT

IPT has been pretty straight forward. To begin with please carry a printout of the email and resume (Just in case), nothing else is required.

Different examiners have different styles of taking the test. In the morning batch people were taken one at a time while in the evening candidates were paired up.

The system on which the test is conducted is called IPT (Instrument Procedure Trainer). It looks exactly like the 737-800 cockpit in FSX.

For the actual test, we were made to do 3 intercepts, 1 hold and 1 VOR/DME approach. We were also asked to do radio calls (nothing major, just basic).

The results are being declared the next day itself. If you're not required to re-positioned or asked to do something again then you've a high chance of getting through.

P51-Mustang 13th Nov 2013 03:15

@INDIAN BIRD 9W

The Radio Calls very pretty basic. When I was asked to Intercept a Radial Inbound/Outbound, I was expected to contact the ATC and inform them that I have established. So I was giving information on my radial, DME & Altitude. Since I realised that my examiner was expecting radio calls, I made radio calls everytime I would establish myself on a radial, change of altitude, Inbound of the hold, etc.

The IPT was on Autopilot, you are in control of Hdg, Course, Altitude & Rate of descent. Either the examiner or, like in my case, the partner was given instructions to change speeds, flaps, etc.

I wasn't asked to do NDB, I was asked to do only what I mentioned earlier. Although it would be a good idea practicing NDB intercepts and approaches.

As I said the approach plate was given to us before hand, and were expected to do exactly as given on the approach plate.

After briefing the plate, we were asked a lot of questions from the given approach plate (I don't quite remember the questions but it was a 15 minute session before the IPT test). You need to know the approach inside out! I can't stress enough on the fact that you need to know every single detail on the Approach plate.

All my friends have cleared so far, so I would take it as a good sign. Although I wouldn't like comment on whether they're taking everybody or not since I don't know about that. I don't think they're giving a second chance to anyone.

Some batches have received dates for their medicals. Not sure about everyone though.

Hopefully this helps!:)

9FLYJET9 13th Nov 2013 12:00

how many people for the IPT?
any idea?

CaptDDay 14th Nov 2013 15:57
