@concorde77
thanks for the answers, appreciate it :) |
@concorder77
if its your first renewal dont go to either afcme or iam, go to the smaller places it much much more relaxed.
|
is there a dedicated forum for question and answers or this is it???
|
jet GD
are GD over or they r still happening
|
DGCA CLASS 1 doubt
Hi arsenal
In my medical its given at the back that " ALL Review at AFCME/IAM". I have heard some doctor in these main center complicate things just for the sake of complications. So if anybody has went for renewal at either of these centers would love your feedback. Especially about the eye doctor at these centers.Thank you for your time.:ok: |
@concorde
I had my 4th renewal at afcme. and the eye doctor there is a big pain in the a** you will probably have a bad time with him. ive had bad experiences at iam as well as i had my initial there, but didnt have a problem with the eye doctor. they just like making life more difficult for you.
|
Same here. Had problems with the eye doc at CME. Best advise is to ignore him and do your thing and get out. Because of him I was declared temp unfit and had to wander around for a good 6 months after which I was declared fit and all reviews have to be done at IAM or CME.

regarding medical
I know any info about medical is essential but this forum is for jet info, so we should share news abt jet preferably
|
@concorde
I did mine last year at IAM. Assistant did all the checks and gave the readings to the doctor who then signed it off. So may be if nothing is alarming then you are through.
@nishantgupta2009 agree with you...but just thought it might help concorde get through |
DGCA CLASS 1 doubt
Thank you for your input guys.It really helps alot. I do understand this forum in for jet interview discussion only,but was in dire need of help. I am starting my flight training end of this year and wanted to get my medicals cleared out of the way. Will pray to god that all of you get placed in jet airways. Thanks a million for your time and input. Have a great time flying.Cheers!!

Indigo Question bank
Pls mail me the question bank too, thanks in advance
[email protected] |
is it wise for a jet "gd cleared" to apply the indigo written this month? i'm in a fix! :ugh: the worst thing that could happen is the jet interview being on the same date as the indigo written
|
did u receive the intw cll from JEt?
|
any1 received any input or dates for intw at JEt
|
indigo question bank
hi please semd me also the ques bank for inidigo/.....and thanks :)
hey even i am in a fix if to appear for indigo after clearing jet gd...... |
@amarmusafir
negative, no interview call letter from jet yet, although it is expected sometime soon @ak129 yea the worst part of the fix is, preparing for an "interview" and a "written" can be quite different, a "written" covers a vast number of topics including numericals, and indigo's written is mostly "ATPL" level, whereas jet's interview is purely "theoretical", so it can get really confusing:rolleyes: |
Please follow the Indigo thread for the Question Bank.. Cyrilroy21 has done the needful..
How is the Interview preparation coming along guys? :8 |
hi guyz.. i have cleared the gd as well and preparing for the interview...
does anyone have any idea as to which part of the technical syllabus is more imp... engines/systems/aerodynamics of flight.... and i've heard that questions are asked on jepp charts and upper met charts...fine with the jepp charts...but i am a bit worried about the met charts...does anyone have any idea as to which book covers this upper met chart stuff????? |
i just hope the interview and the simulator won't end up being 6 months later, just like the gap between the written (feb) and the gd (aug) :zzz:
|
I heard that the last batch from the jet airways 2010 recruitment is to be trained in October. So maybe they will take our interviews after that. :confused:
|
@ice_veins
nope, the last batch from august 2010 is currently underway, i know a couple of people in this batch, which is allotted for ATR |
The last batch was split into atr and b737, atr guys are being trained but the 737 ones have yet to be trained
|
viper22
Regarding Met Charts study low and High level Prognostic charts (also known as significant weather charts I guess).They are used worldwide.Besides that Station Model is quite important.You can study them from the FAA Jeppessen books.Prognostic charts are available in any IMD.
|
The last batch 737 guys will start their ground classes somwhere aroun 20th of october, so the next batch will start aroun january, so they will have to finish of the interviews and sim by december end!

meteorology question
Q1. you intend to overfly a mountain ridge at an altitude of 15000ft AMsL.The average air temp i s 15degree lover than IsA.the sealevel pressure 1003Hpa.which altimeter indication is needed?
Ans--16170ft...............please explain hw to solve this problem thanks please some one guide in solving this problem Q2.An OAT of -55degree at the 200Hpa pressure level: A)+/-5degree IsA. B) is low............... {acc. to me ans should be +10degree IsA DEVIATION} please advice regarding this problem |
@ AVIATROZ
True altitude = Indicated altitude + 4% of Indicated every 10 deg above ISA if ISA deviation is positive. = Indicated altitude - 4% of Indicated every 10 deg below ISA if ISA deviation is negative. Here 15000 is the true altitude. Temp is 15 deg lower so Indicated altitude will be higher. 4% for 10 deg so 6% for 15 deg. 6 % of 15000 is 900. So Indicated altitude is 15900. The altimeter setting is 1003 so you will need to set 27 x10(1013-1003) = 270 feet higher. 15900 + 270 = 16170 feet which is your answer. Hope you got it. |
BMI
i just happened to notice the first post of this thread posted by cyrilroy21 containing the jet airways advertisement for 'trainee first officer' citing all the requirements, one of them being 'weight should match with height', does this imply that any candidate not within the normal BMI of 18-25 will be turned down during the medical check-up (stage 5 of the selection process)? :confused:
|
@auromika
when they've stated it to be as required by them, i think they do mean it..:suspect::suspect:

And in other news........
Jet Airways to launch flight to Manila from December
NEW DELHI: Jet Airways will be launching its services to Manila from December this year and induct 11 new Boeing aircraft by March 2013. "We are enthusiastic about our Delhi-Manila flight which is going to be launched from December this year," a senior Jet Airways official said. The airlines will be acquiring 11 new Boeing 737-800 NR by March 2013 and three would be inducted in the fleet by March 2012. Jet Airways plans to deploy the new aircraft to South East Asian, SAARC countries and the Gulf region. "Of the 11 new aircraft, two Boeing 737-800 will have a 16 business and 138 economy class seating configuration complete with Jet Airways world-class in-flight entertainment system. The remaining nine Boeings would have eight business and 162 economy class seating configuration," Gilbert George, Senior General Manager (India, Sales) said. The airline today got the country's first Boeing 737-800 with Sky Interior. Jet Airways to launch flight to Manila from December - The Economic Times |
Finally some positive news, I found this as well-
MUMBAI, 20th September 2011: Private air carrier Jet Airways on Tuesday said it has received delivery of its first Boeing 737-800 aircraft, which will be inducted in the airline's fleet this month.
The aircraft is the first of the 11 such Boeing 737-800s, whose delivery is expected between October 2011 and March next year, Jet Airways said in a statement. "The Boeing 737 has been an essential part of our product offering in the past and Jet Airways selected the next generation state-of-the art Boeing 737-800 aircraft because of its high degree of operational flexibility and economy," the company's Chief Commercial Officer Sudheer Raghavan said. These new Boeing 737-800 aircraft will also possess better economy, given the fact that they will have over one per cent less fuel burn, compared to the airline's fleet of Boeing 737 aircraft. Jet Airways currently operates a fleet of 98 aircraft, which includes 10 Boeing 777-300 ER aircraft, 12 Airbus A330-200 aircraft, 56 Boeing 737-700/800/900 aircraft and 10 ATR 72-500 turboprop aircraft, it said. |
With the current orders and fleet expansion. Would jet hire more people next yr or later ? I am planning to begin my flying after few months. Like everyone even i am afraid of the current situation. Even indigo looks bright ? Would these factors really make things better in the coming years ?
|
Just three words
DONT DO IT
|
Re-GD??
Hello ppruners!
Has anyone heard of a re-gd taking place next week? Any info, please share. Thanks |
Why....?!?! With the current situation. Every thing looks bright. But unless someone really bad happens like 2008.
|
@gavinv174
Why....?!?! With the current situation. Every thing looks bright. But unless someone really bad happens like 2008. You still have some time, i really hope you would take the more practical decision and go get a College Degree or something before you poof your $$ up in aviation, where CPL is not worthy any other place other than the Flight Deck. I understand the glamour and the awesomeness of the profession might blind you to feel, oh hey, i can clear DGCA Exams, I can clear Indigo,JET,AIR INDIA what not. But dude! its not as rosy and easy as it sounds. I suggest you re-consider your choice and get more stability in your life by staying away from aviation. At the cost of Pilot training, you could complete a Bachelors from a Good University, Also your Masters and still have money left! Think About it. |
@gavinv174
If you really are passionate about flying then go for it:ok:,but yes would advice you to do your graduation simultaneously through correspondence |
