Applied for Bangalore center and got Chennai, relieved, everyone who has a reference number should get a call letter soon. I was a bit nervous as I had renewed my medical a few days back, but I still got the call.

Best of luck to everyone.

One more thing, just need a final confirmation on this,

"Computer, PDA, Spy pen, camera, Electronic storage/memory devices, hands free, ear phone and similar any other equipment and devices are strictly NOT ALLOWED in the Examination hall".

I assume this list includes calculators as well, am I right?

Thank you.

i believe so, this is only my first attempt but people from the previous attempt weren't allowed to use calculators, so i'm assuming it's not allowed this time either
besides, i didn't know what PDA stands for until a few minutes ago. i just looked it up - personal digital assistant - calculators fall under PDA :E

@auromika

:suspect:

strange I have the same book and it says 661kts.

Vertigo911 17th Feb 2011 13:23

According to NASA, its 661.7 Knots. But Wiki, Google etc say its 661.47. I think I'd go with the GSP and NASA in this case.

sudeep6258 17th Feb 2011 13:42

Regarding the performance type..

What are the questions like regarding performance??

Capt.Vamshi 17th Feb 2011 13:48

Guys do not worry about the technical papers they are all PPl level but concentrate on Mental ability testes. Concentrate on very basics

sky_thebeginning 17th Feb 2011 14:07

Hey guys...
No need to appear in written for the people who flunked in Gd last time...
This is confirmed as i have received the mail for the same just a few moments back...cheers

Capt.Vamshi 17th Feb 2011 14:12

Guys even I received a mail from HR just now saying that I am directly eligible for assessment and need not give the written again and asked to wait for the further instructions.

Delta Bravo353 17th Feb 2011 14:23

Guys even i got the mail from Hr saying "you would be eligible for re-appearing for the Assessment Centre directly.You may please note that you are not required to re-appear for written test." :ok:

JAY SHAH 17th Feb 2011 14:24

What about radio aids? Sums on brgs,Rmi?freq?

Lamberts,mercators- btp sums? Etc?

sky_thebeginning 17th Feb 2011 15:13

@cobra
I would suggest you to do everything but try n dont waste yor time to study any topic very deeply...do basic to everything...thats what i did!!!

sky_thebeginning 17th Feb 2011 15:50

@cobra
Not that i remember of...
But stii just read a little about hypoxia,hyperventilation type of basic stuff,just to be on a safer side...
This is only because you will also have negative marking and these type questions give you full marks without confusion...

av8er1990 17th Feb 2011 17:04

same here...applied for mumbai ..but got chennai...

anyone knows how to contact HR? office or email ?

fly.low 17th Feb 2011 17:07

@sky_thebigining

is there negative marking in the exam?

thearsenal 17th Feb 2011 17:25

yes there is negative marking.

PP351 17th Feb 2011 17:28

@flyfly2me

Here are the questions as far as i remember from last time something like,
# Oxygen diluted operates : a) only when breathing in air(which is the correct answer) b)above 36000ft c) above 10000ft d) below 10000ft.

# aircraft pressurisation system includes option were i guess a)bleed air valve b)positive relief valve c) negative relief valve d) outflow valve

#non relief valves are also called as a) check valves(correct) b) one way valves

and one question on rapid decompression i believe.
Thats all i can remember all the best to all! cheers

fly.low 17th Feb 2011 17:29

@thearsenal

that sucks:sad:

is it like -1 for wrong & +3 for correct answer?

aroumika 17th Feb 2011 17:31

i might sound rather stupid, but i'm just curious, my roll number is around 4300, does this mean there's approximately 4500 applying for just 40 vacancies (from what i've heard) or are the roll numbers based purely on the centres?

if it's 40:4500, that's less than 1:100, pretty slim ratio :ugh:

sky_thebeginning 17th Feb 2011 17:34

@cobra
Thanks a lot buddy and same to you too..

@fly.low
Yes negative marking will be there and it may vary from paper to paper...In technical paper it was +1 for the right answer and -1/4 for a wrong answer...

fly.low 17th Feb 2011 17:35

@PP351

i think anwer of Q2. is d) outflow valve

@aroumika
according to my sources, they need like 300-400 pilots

aroumika 17th Feb 2011 17:38

@aroumika
according to my sources, they need like 300-400 pilots
thank you, that makes me feel better (if your sources are right), a 1:10 ratio sounds more encouraging :E

fly.low 17th Feb 2011 17:40

@aroumika

even, i came to know that they gonna come again with more vacancies after 6months and may be before that

aroumika 17th Feb 2011 17:43

@aroumika

even, i came to know that they gonna come again with more vacancies after 6months and may be before that
that's good news :ok: would you happen to have any information about spicejet, indigo or any other carriers?

PP351 17th Feb 2011 17:46

@fly.low

sorry i put the options apart in second Q i mean they all include in one option so all these options abcd have to be taken together in one option n i don remember the other ones as this was the correct answer n there's no need of talking about wrong ones.;)

dragstar 18th Feb 2011 03:49

@aroumika
