didn't make it as well...all the best to the others who are going for the next stage

vvasekhar 16th Jan 2018 04:25

Thanks buddy for your response.

Now I can focus on something else.

Yes, the bottom line for cadet program selection is 'How interested are you in flying'

The main element of the process is the interview, where they check your interest towards flying and aviation. Be assured you cant fake it cause they are very good at screening people. so just be yourself and keep the usual answers to questions such as " tell me about yourself" ready.

Oh no, that's so sad.

Maybe, we could update each other in this thread as we prepare for OBS Lumut and the briefing on 01 Sep.

Btw, which fleet are you guys heading for? And, have any bros recieved the letter of offer? :D

Bro this is a great idea. Btw, I'll also be applying for SIA Cadet programme this month. And I was hoping if anyone (international student who got selected for 1st interview) can share a resume format or something similar. This'll help us know what type of CVs they are expecting from people outside Singapore. Is this possible?

there are no international applicants selected till now and by no i mean absolute zero.as far as cv goes there is no particular format to follow. The panel doesn't really think too much about how you present your cv off course it should be professional .Its the content that they look for. Irrespective of everything if they call you for the 1st round they would ask you to refill the entire application once again.

MALAYA1957 25th Jan 2018 01:41

is there any whatsapp group for those got selected in the first stage? Im from Malaysian recruitment.

jasthe 26th Jan 2018 00:39

SIA cadet pilot reapplying

Hi
I applied for the ab initio cadet pilot position on November 2016 and was invited for the first round of interviews on Dec 2016. I was not selected after.
I tried reapplying, but I am unable to do so as the system says that they have my records, therefore I'm unable to reapply. But I think it's because I withdrew my previous application as I thought it was needed for me to reapply. And the system recognizes that I withdrew the application and therefore I'm unable to reapply to the same tracking code, which is 636-233. The system does not allow applications that were withdrawn to reapply to the same job code.

Can anyone help me with this please?

Myopia 250 degrees

Hi I hope someone can answer to my question regarding myopia.

I have myopia for both eyes 250 degrees, which is within the criteria stated by sq.

The question is should I perform lasik surgery now or just continue wearing contact lenses? As Im still studing uni I will be applying for the cadet pilot around 1.5 years later.

Which is the better way?

Thankyou

What about Indonesians?

Are any of you here Indonesian? Any successful Indonesian cadets? Is Indonesia considered to be the same local group as Singapore and Malaysia in terms of acceptance in the program?

n350xwb 15th Feb 2018 04:06

For those intending to apply from India, have you tried for the indigo pilot cadet program ? It is much easier to apply unless you really want to fly for SQ and be sponsored by the airline. Not to discourage anyone but it is definitely difficult applying from another country where there are plenty of other alternatives available. But please note in mind that you should try and not be discouraged.

I think SIA have stopped asking Indians..

SpeedBurn 20th Feb 2018 07:33

I am curious why SIA doesn't consider any international candidates for cadet pilot programme.

If they are only considering only Singaporean citizens and PR's it shall be mentioned in the job page.

It's like giving us hope and at the end nothing. Anybody have some views on this matter.

That may be true as it seems they are now only open to Malaysians and Singaporeans(PRs/Singapore Citizens), have you tried for the Indigo cadet program?

If India had sponsored cadet pilot programme, I don't believe Indians will try for SIA cadet programme. And this is same for all other international candidates.
Indigo Cadet Pilot programme is super costly and majority of us cannot afford it..
I still hope SIA will give us a chance. Fingers Crossed.

Good luck on the next stage guys !

On the other hand, I am still awaiting the invitation email for the aptitude test (for Malaysian candidate). Assuming the high number of applicants, maybe will be called a bit later.

EagleEye1993 9th Mar 2018 07:17

I haven't receive any email from SIA regarding the next interview date but I also had receive the email of shortlisted and will be updated within 3 weeks. My friend told me maybe they make into few batch due to the amount of computers available in the facility might not be enough to fit everyone. Should I send an email to clarify with SIA?

thev246 12th Mar 2018 04:53

Nope. I still have yet to receive any email for the aptitude test.

MALAYA1957 18th Mar 2018 07:08

Hi Guys,

I just attended the final interview last week Wednesday. first is the aptitude test (fun games) nothing to prepare and just follow the instructions. just keep track the timing on the screen.

then 50 words essay, Why you want to be an airline pilot.

the final interview by Panel. 5 interviewers. 1 to 1 session.

Questions from the Panel:

1.Why you want to be a pilot/
TIPS: Remember, the panel consists of senior pilots/trainers/senior manager etc. And they are looking for someone who has the (burning) passion for FLYING/ operates the plane. The one thing they mention to us is they don't want someone who sees this as a job. they want someone who sees this as their LIFE. Haha. So be smart at answering why you want to be a pilot question.
You must have a strong background/story. and make sure you're well prepared for the lie/truth you gonna say.

2. I'm an offshore engineer, so they expect me to know about chopper/helicopters models, how it is function and some basic details.

3. Know a little about the airline industry, especially details on the incidents/accidents. AirFrance Accident is their Fav Pick. They ask me about latest AirAsia incidents too.

4. The interviewers shared one issue with the current batch of pilots- when the new 787-10s arrived, no one wants to try to fly them. So, this is one of the reasons why they want to find people who are passionate about flying.

5. Good Luck. Be confident. Smile and just relax. The interview is not very difficult, but you need to be precise and tell factual things and make sure they are not bored with your answers.

just in case if they ask you to stay back for one more night for medical, pls don't stay. Haha. just go back to your hometown (for Malaysians) and wait for your result.

jc777 18th Mar 2018 14:52

Thanks for the share!

may I know if any other malaysians got called up yet? cause I haven since. Been 3 months since we passed the first round on the 17 dec 😞
