you have to clear the written and interview before thinking about cost of type rating, however for your info they asked for 10 lacs last time with 10 lacs deducting from salary over the period of 5 years.

Instead of asking about the salary or flying hours SG pilots get, I would recommend if you can ask others the way to crack the exam first. That's more relevant and makes sense looking at the present scenario.

Salary would be according to standard FO salary in india....10-20 K up or down...
Nobody is going to give you exact figure of their salary....You can ask all these questions in interview with SG.....

Hi,
I've been following the SpiceJet thread carefully. Does anybody know whether SpiceJet already conducted an exam on December 5th for the Q400 pilots? Cause people kept talking about the exam likely to be held in January 2012.

foxx2 - Looks like you are right. SpiceJet must have conducted a 'hidden' exam for Q400 pilots on December 5th.

foxx2 - I got it in my inbox half an hour ago. This clearly shows the faulty recruitment process going on in SpiceJet. They keep dangling the carrot. And one fine day, the guy sends out an email like this.

TO ALL
Hey guys.
To all the people who are not happy with the way SpiceJet is conducting its recruitments and find it fishy as they'r selecting people without merit please lodge a complaint with the Public Grievance portal link below.
As SpiceJet is a Listed Company it is bound to be answerable to its shareholders but only when someone objects to something.
Therefore Lodging a Complaint on the Public Grievance:
:: Grievance Redress Mechanism in Government ::
And A letter to the Central Vigilance Department
CVC
Will get all the dirt out of the bag.
Also remember, you may think nothing would happen, but when all of us do this in numbers (weather employed or unemployed) for the safety of aviation, there is bound to be action.
Issued in Public Interest.

Sorry guitarboy,
Disagree there..
Why would I do that and dwindle our already dwindling chances by going against the only airline that seems to be recruiting freshers?
I'd rather study hard for the exams.
I know recruitment tends to be fishy but I also know of honest people who got their jobs the right way.
Markets opening up guys, just be prepared rather than waste time accusing each other.

markets opening up... as in?? which which airlines??
JetLite and Jet Airways is not going to hire freshers for a long time now. atleast 1n1/2 or 2 years.
Spicejet I dont wanna talk about it.
IndiGo this thread says all about it.
AI IC & Express their plight is known but they want freshers type rated though.
Kingfisher isnt opening up for freshers.
Which else...and whens market opening up as in how???
