Hi, is there any confirmation of any exam at spicejet? Heard it got delayed for CPL holders. Did u get any mail regarding the exam? if yes then is it for type rated or non type rated??

imflyinhigh - I have no idea about the dates. I haven't even applied for it, considering the posts I read earlier. Is it true, they invite hundreds of candidates (each paying a sum of Rs.20,000/-) for just the written exam and only 10-15 of them manage to move to the next round when almost everyone finds the exam easy? Those 10-15 candidates are under the watchful eyes of the influential people and there is no room for merit?

Well, cant say much.. im sure they would have to select few out of so many candidates and not everyone can be selected. So even if u study hard, its more important to be influential as well. Thats the bitter truth.

SpiceJet would be conducting a written exam for CPL holders having B 737 Type rating on 17-Nov-2011.To brush up your technical and performance acknowledge we are conducting Ground class from 17-Oct-11 to 11-Nov-11. Pilots desirous of attending these classes may do so on payment of Rs. 50,000 each. The enrolment for the classes is entirely voluntary, and the attendance to these classes does not guarantee grant of employment nor passing of the written test which is purely on your competency. Last date to submit the DD of Rs. 50,000 is by 13-Oct-11 in favor of “SpiceJet Limited” payable at New Delhi.
You will be appearing in a written exam on 17-Nov-11 conducted by SpiceJet. The fee for the same is Rs 25,000 to be paid separately by a DD in favor of “SpiceJet Limited” payable at New Delhi. The payment for the test to be made by 11-Nov-11.
Those candidates who clear the written exam, Technical interview and successfully pass the SIM check will be given an opportunity to join the Company as B 737 NG Type Rated Trainee First Officer.
Please note that the charges for the SIM check will be Rs. 75,000, to be paid before the check is carried out.

P.S : The grapevine is that the gentleman who sometime back was very famous for conducting classes in delhi for students appearing for DGCA exams is now the person who is influencing the recruitment with spicejet as an active-executive member of the recruitment (scammers) team.

What a Bull**** is this......Spicejet is so weird, they were supposed to conduct exam for the CPL holders, now exam for type rated, that too one has to pay overall 1.5lac for the selection.
who the hell ask a whooping 75K for the sim check, Indigo just ask for 13K for the sim from type rated pilots.
Anyhow CPL exam is not going to happen now anytime soon.....

You guys are so full of it. all of you are gonna be at the front of the line screaming 'hire me' with your 1.5l dd in favour of these thieves. Once you have whored yourself out BEFORE you have joined, you will gladly suffer the abuse for the next 8 years before you realise that you have sold your soul to these hustlers.
