Does anyone know why they require cadets to have a perm ID card rather than just an ID card?

Anybody has an idea about the IT?

I know the IT is comprised of English and Math test. I have heard some friends who mentioned that the applicant needa be memorize the terms, locations, or whatever from the speaker during a listening test and the speaker with strong British (London) accent. I am a little worry about that.

Does any one here have an idea where I should practice for the listening test? Cause I can't find any from Youtube. I also have heard that is just similar to the oxford listening test. But I can't find any resource out there.

Thanks a lot. My IT is on Nov 9th.

KA cadet

Hey guys i have done the IT on the 28th Oct 2011. the IT consisted:
1. Oxford placement test gammer paper 100 questions in 40 mins. all multiple choices
2. Oxford placement test listening paper 100 questions with the pre recorded type. the speaking was slightly bit fast with english accent.
3. KA inhouse paper with 3 passages about 30-1 min each. 3, 3, 4 questions to the passages
4. Maths paper with 7 'big' questions each with about 3-4 sub question. a total of 20 question in the paper. time limit 30 mins

The first three paper werent that hard if your english is reasonablily fluent. Its mainly about the use of english.
The math paper however was a very tight in time. i could only managed to finish 9 small questions out of the 20. I didnt guess the rest, i just hope accuaracy is the thing they are looking for.

Are there any of u guy on the same batch?

Crashing 1234:

I have met couple applicants through somewhere in the forum. Some of them go through for the 1st interview. What I am meaning the first interview is the ICAO English test after Apt test. Do you obtain an opportunity for the first interview? I have heard that the first interview is demanding and harsh. Most the applicants are eliminated from this stage. And I have heard a lot of bad stories from the interviewer.

Anyhow, could you please kindly explain the 3rd module of the IT? I don't really understand what do you mean KA inhouse paper with 3 passages. What are these papers associated with? English or Math test? And what do you mean 3-3-4? I feel appreciate if you could explain more about this module.

Also, couple of applicants told me that there are totally 9 questions for the Math test and KA breaks it down into totally 3x something questions. For instance, 1a, 1b, 1c, ....2a, 2b, 3a, 3b. Therefore, I have doubt about you said there are totally 20 questions and you just finish 9 of its. However, my friend who've got an invitation for the 1st interview. He said he didn't finish all of the questions also, and he didn't guess the rest as well.

i think they have different sets of papers. actually it doesnt matter how many questions there are, but more importantly accuracy. personally i think there is no way to finish the paper. just answer as many as u can and concentrate dont be distracted. also a suggestion within this post helps: just make a reasonable guess in some questions

Hey keigorjai,
Sorry for not being clear about my info.

3. for the third paper it was a english/memory paper. there were three recordings, about 30 secs to one min long. after each recording, they will let you to see the questions about the recording (about 3 to 4 per recording). i.e. the recording might say something about the joint program with youth aircadet and KA last year. info might include: how many student gradutated from it, course content, etc . then after the recording has finished. the question might ask 'what is the number of cadets who finished from the program' or 'name one of the activities in the program' or 'who is the program director' or 'name the hosting organisation of the program'. thats about it. try practice with your friends, recording a piece of news on TV and ask him/her to set some questions about the it. Do it ten times (i didnt practic and remembered about 6 out of 10) and u can pretty much get it all correct.

4. For the math questions, i had just 7 big ones and a total of 20 questions. i had some 'big' questions with 4 smaller questions in them. I dun know why was my math paper was shorter than theirs...

I am still waiting for the app test.

what is your status right now?

Foxtrot Hotel & rcswing,

Guys, don't worry that much about the multitasking section as most people don't tend to do that well in it. I only got 50% hit and I've heard people with more miss than hit but still manage to get through, so as long as you did reasonably well in the other sections then you should be fine.

crashing1234,

I have never heard anyone who has completed all the math questions (or anywhere near), most of them only completed half or may be a little more so don't need to worry that much. Just relax and get ready for the next stage.

GOOD LUCK TO YOU ALL!
