Is that technical interview (2nd interview) you meant? When is yr group exercise? It seems like you will be in batch 2 of DA15 selection

I meant HR interview, ICAO up next for me.
But "ICAO, medical, group exercise, technical interview" count as one stage, isn't it?

Only if you passed your ICAO test, you will be invited to (medical/technical interview/group exercise/personality test/social lunch) as 1 single stage. ICAO eng test will take sometime, and personally I think its actually more demanding then it seems to be, a lot of candidates got eliminated in this, so make sure you prepare yourself to the very best. As I know batch 2 should be still at around AT or HR interview stage, thats why I was quite surprised about what you said on group exercise.

I can feel you being very enthusiatic about later stages, but best way to make sure you get there, is to take one stage at a time, dont think too far beyond other than what you are facing right now. But I can tell you a bit of teaser, social lunch is such a nice event, make sure you get there!

thanks for your advice. Can you share some of your experience how can we prepare for the ICAO English test? I have search through the internet and understand that it evaluates your verbal English and comprehension on 6 parts. Grateful if you could share some of your advices to us.

Sailochi,

When is your ICAO test? Hope we can make it through and meet at the group exercise soon.

Foxtrot Hotel,

Thanks and good luck to you! Same, hope we can meet up at the group exercise at next stage.

I dont think there is a particular way that you can 'prepare' for the test. English is a language, it had to be practiced throughout daily life, but if you are a HKer like most the others here, then I guess the chance for you using English daily is quite remote.
1 thing I would suggest that might assist improving your level of english proficiency, is to watch ACI. By doing so you learn new aviation vocabulary too. Try to digest the whole episode, and present the story verbally while voice recording yourself. After you have done the recording, play it and analyse it, see how you feel about it, and try to make improvement on the next try with a new episode.
But anyway, I dont think I passed by a big margin, and my suggestion are purely my opinion(which may not work on everyone). Basically, remain calm, and go into the test room with a cool head clear mind is the most important.

From a level 6 English guy,
Why not watch TV? Lots of English shows to download.

Watching tv is not quite the same as 'using' english. Everyone will probably have their mouth shut while watching TV, listening is probably easy but not the talking, and its not going to do any good for a test that requires speaking right?

I am not the officials, so I cant give you a solid answer. However from my observation of the others, it seems like most people with relatively low scores in the flying game have not been accepted. At the end of the day being able to fly the plane well is the task of a pilot. But nevermind whats being said, its only my observation, and you should still keep up your hope and prepare for next stage!

What they mainly look for is improvements over tries, they dont necessary need top scores in every try. I m sorry for your cold that affected your performance, I dont think they will send out a rejection letter, at least they wont do it until months after. If you are not contacted within a week or two, I'd say you can assume they rejected you. But you had only done the test today, so cheer up! Its way too early to tell!

Thanks, I think most people who got low marks are because they are trying too hard to control the aircraft, ended up in over controlling it.
In the first try I had been trying to find out the feeling to fly that aircraft in that game, so I got a slightly lower mark in first shot. But in my second and third try, I barely touched the control since I put it in the right track. In fact my hand was away from the control for majority of the time, and the aircraft wont deviate its intended flight path at all. In the end, a (potential) pilot should have the ability to fly an aircraft nice and steady, so a higher mark in this game should be expected.
