@Albatr055: I only did #1 and #3. Didn't manage to do #2 since the plane broke down the weekend I was scheduled to do the flight. Bleh.

So apart from @Albatr055 and myself, is anyone else waiting for results from SIA? Might be a good idea to start keeping each other updated.

Doubt if SFC will provide introductory flights, but the other flying clubs will, so don't have to go to m'sia for that.

awkward question

hello guys, i hope the Seniors can answer this for me. is there some form of "letting out gas" etiquette that pilots adhere to when they want to do the said matter in the cockpit? i've had the privilege of flying pipers in the syfc for awhile but as the flights were not longer than 1hr, i never had the urge to fart in the cockpit.
that being said, i remember on longer flights, as a passenger, feeling quite ill holding my fart for like 4-5hrs(SIN-TPE) at 8000ft air pressure. so i m quite worried if i do ever have the chance to be a SIA pilot, and then be hampered from doing my best due to such a problem. thanks.

Quoted this:

hi actually it doesnt matter what age if u got rejected by the RSAF, because the purpose of the age restriction to let the airforce have that leverage but since they don't want that particular candidate, he or she is free to apply SIA anytime b4 26. i did, i m 23. but i had to decline their offer due to some personal reasons. gonna apply again once the 'thing' is settled.

peace.

Is this true? It sounds amazing. Can Singaporeans then apply for the airforce and purposely get rejected? That way they can apply for SIA way before 26. Can anyone confirm this?

FurtherMaths,

Ahhh, one of the many questions and situations one must face being a pilot. When to sleep, when to eat, adjust to local time, stick to Singapore time, when to fart, when to clear bowels.

In time, you will learn to face these situations, my young Jedi. But, believe me, don't think you can get away by letting it silently rip and innocently look around with a shocked look on your face acting as if it weren't you. Especially when there are only two of you on the flight deck.

Anyway, the toilet is there to be used. And, avoid durians before flights.

This is my first post here and thank you all for the information.

I applied for the cadet pilot position on Wednesday and got an email reply for interview 2 days later. My interview is slated to be on the 19th June 2009. Anyone going as well?

If there is no change to it recently, then it should be:
A level = $500
Dipl = $900
Recognized Degree = $1200
After obtaining CPL = $1900
(all subjected to CPF deduction)
