Purplehearts,

I already get paid to fly an airplane so need for me to "stop whining and get funding". I paid for my licence by working very hard for the amount of years it took to get the money.

As for "ranting" I think your very long posts are a bit more "ranty" than my six liners.

Well that's all good ain't it you are in a good job we should all be happy.

No need for bad feelings with the airlines then . Enjoy flying and don't let money upset you.

How do you know he is a 'good' job?

In fact it's been downhill since 1992

How so?

Planes can fly themselves and land themselves, yes, however you can never replace the human touch in the cockpit. At least not in the near future.

I believe veins is referring to ashraf007's comment about a first interview in September 2013. Yeah it's rather quiet around.

Tigerair self funded programme

Hi guys,

I'm here to source for opinion(s) with regards to Tigerair Self funded programme. Check out this link Jobs Listing | Singapore Flying College. I would want to check what type of training it'll be & if the training costs will be paid at a lump sump or installment method?

Looking forward for any inputs. Thanks

Yup that's correct.

I am seriously thinking of going for the self-funded path. Saw on STAA website that there are places i can get a study loan on this. Currently they are only providing for MPL for Qatar.

I however want to fly with Tigerair for various reasons. Anw that means that i have to apply to CAE. I think i can get a loan from a bank for this as well not so sure.

Personally, If i am not attached and slightly younger i wont mind SQ and QR. because I can do long haul flights and visit places and do some cool stuffs on lay overs.

However I am 26 this year and I've missed the previous intake of cadets because of ignorance, some procrastination and the financial side of things. Now that i have most of the financial things sorted our i am ready to give it a go.

I don't have a problem with long haul flights. I just done think that if later on when I want to start a family that it would be good if I am always away from my children(if I happen to have a child in the next few years).

Therefore regional airlines like Tiger and Silk are best for my requirement and the lifestyle I want to have. I can fly around and enjoy my career and still be there for my family.

Great to see this forum back alive again. Recruitment is starting back up? This time it would be MPL training?

Would those who got passed the medical clearance in March'12 get a call up soon to redo medical tests?

Wow. Looks like someone is very well inform on issues concluded just last week. Perhaps it would be good to add in that it would be for the select few. Quite possible those would have applied before hand.

To the rest interested, slowly wait till 2015 bah. Perhaps get another job in a relevant industry rather than wasting time away.
