What course? Is it science based?
Kinda hard to imagine them rejecting people for no reason now that there's a demand for pilots. They should put you through the apt test at least.

whatever degree doesn't matter one la..
why do you think they keep inviting people for interviews? they reject a lot of people during interview, and will always have not enough people.
they can afford to be very choosy, you can do nothing about it

For the cases where they asked you to see additional eye tests at your own cost, I suspect it might have something to do with your degree/astig declaration in the application form.
If interviewed and then rejected although all went well, then its prob bcos of eyesight also.....
Its not bcos they are choosy, but you will not believe the type of candidates they get every Friday at the 1st interview trust me.....

SIA must be the only airline still so concerned about eyesight, even more strict than RSAF.
Other airlines don't really matter as long as correctable to 6/6 with optical aid.
yes, don't go for lasik, they want you to be untouched surgically

LASIK myth
Not true. You must have gone for LASIK more than a year before applying.
And if you make it for the 2nd round, they will ask you to get report from your LASIK clinic before placing you for a spot in the 2nd interview.
Hope it helps.

LASIK myth
Another thing I heard is that they may send you to their appointed surgeon for LASIK and even pick up the tab... Don't know how true this is though...
Still, I would prefer not to do LASIK until after I am hired...

SIA sending people for Lasik will never happen. If you undergo Lasik, be prepared to be judged on your pre-Lasik condition.
If you can see the 1st alphabet on the eye chart, you are 6/60. Nothing to be happy about though because your clearance is still at the sole discretion of the CAAS appointed doctor and SIA's own eye specialist during the medicals.Still give it a try if you are borderline cos you never know if you dont try.
The most recent course was almost scrapped due to low numbers. This would give you a good indication of the quality of candidates coming for the interviews.
For those going for 1st interview, its not hard to pass. Basic interview etiquette and sound aviation and company knowledge will surely put you in good stead for 2nd round. Gd luck!

Hi guys,
for those who applied via silkroad, and whose online application is still showing the status "Application",
are u guys able to open up ur uploaded files? I just checked and I can't seem to open up all my files. It keeps displaying some error message about wrong coding and so on. I only noticed this yesterday. Prior to yesterday, I had no problems opening up my files.
Did u guys encounter the same problem? If so, I was thinking we may have to re-upload the files altogether.

Hi Blomqvist,
I'm having problems with "Step 3: Proile Attachments". Can't seem to access my uploaded files anymore since yesterday. Was wondering if it's a general technical issue.
For "Step 4:Resume/CV content", so far no problems for my side. Uploaded the resume some time back and the contents were successfully extracted out.
